It seems Ryan Reynolds really wanted to be with his family, and that is why during the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con it was not just a typical signing event.
In particular, the Deadpool star was FaceTiming with his wife Blake Lively and their little boy Olin, who is 3 years old, when he was already in the denim superhero costume.
Blake Lively Shares Rare Photo of Son Olin
Lively shared a screenshot of the call on her Instagram Story on July 26, where Reynolds was seen wearing Deadpool’s mask, as Olin, who also has 11-year-old daughter James, nine-year-old Inez and six-year-old Betty, posed with a picture book
“When you’re reading a Captain America book and get interrupted by a FaceTime from Dad,” read the caption by the Gossip Girl star, who wore a bright banded button-down while Olin wore green striped pajamas as they lay cozily on a bed.

Ryan Reynolds Pranks Fans at San Diego Comic-Con
However, Lively and Olin wouldn’t be the only ones surprised by Reynolds that day, as a number of people at the comic convention had no idea that they crossed paths with the actor.
“Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world,” wrote Reynolds on Instagram on July 26, captioning a video that showed him in costume while pretending to take selfies with unknowing fans.
He added,
Meanwhile, Lively was quick to repost her husband’s latest prank with the caption, “My kind of LOL SURPRISE.”

In fact, Reynolds even joined the Marvel movie panel while wearing his Canadian tuxedo costume, joking to the Avengers: Doomsday cast during the fan Q&A segment about joining the project
“When do you start filming?” he asked Robert Downey Jr., who replied that the film, which isn’t out yet, “is in the can, bro.”
So Reynolds, who hasn’t officially signed on to appear in the upcoming Avengers movie, followed up with a joke that there “isn’t any additional photography, no overages, maybe last minute additions?”
Ryan Reynolds Teases Another Deadpool Movie
While it’s still unclear whether Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool would cross over into the Avengers universe to battle against Downey’s Doctor Doom alongside Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu and the rest of the cast, the actor recently revealed that there will be another solo installment of his wisecracking anti-hero.
“There’s eventually, remotely another Deadpool film,” said Reynolds at the Fanatics Fest earlier this month. “It’s gonna be great.”
