Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian’s Ex, Has Built a Chicken Fry Business
Kim Kardashian former spouse, Kris Humphries, has now turned his full-time attention to running a fried chicken business.
The couple who were married were married for 72 days in 2011, only to separate and divorce later on. However, Kris Humphries, 32, has moved on with his life after quitting the NBA in 2017 and opened several Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurants in Minnesota.
“I’ve moved on from basketball, and since I’m not in the game anymore, I try to keep a low profile and focus on the new chapter of my life,” Humphries stated in a recent interview with the US Sun.
“I’ve been building some businesses,” he revealed.
Kris Humphries Expands Dave’s Hot Chicken Business
Humphries, 41, opened his first franchise in his home state this year, after inking a deal to launch 10 in Minnesota within a year.
“I knew the area and went to Hopkins High School; we used to get over to the mall all the time,” the ex-baller told Fox 9 at the time. “So I thought, ‛ You know what, let me do the first one down by my old high school,” Humphries added, noting that the area needed a hot chicken place.
As of last September, Humphries signed a contract to open 30 stores in the Twin Cities, according to the Business Journal. “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star has shifted his attention from working out to working on his business ventures, as he now uses his Instagram account to promote his latest business endeavor.

Humphries stays close to the public even after becoming famous. He is a very familiar face at his fast-food places and also likes participating in hot chicken challenges when the occasion arises. The NBA star has been playing for 13 years in the league. He was signed by the Utah Jazz in 2004 and, besides having been a member of the Atlanta Hawks, he retired a few years later in 2017. He was a sensation at one point for dating an extremely beautiful socialite, whose 45th birthday the couple celebrated very recently. However, the two broke up at the end of 2011. Only 72 days after their wedding, the couple divorced. It is said that even Kim made a point of acknowledging that she knew very early on during their honeymoon that she and her husband at the time were not meant to get married.
Kim Kardashian Admitted She Owed Kris Humphries an Apology
“At the time I thought, ‘Oh my God! I’m 30 years old; I have to be responsible now, so I need to get married,” she said on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen in 2017.
Kim acknowledged in 2021 that she had wronged her ex-husband Kris Humphries in the divorce and thus apologized for that, although she stated that he had been avoiding her calls.
She had been married before to Damon Thomas (2000 – 2004) and to Kanye West (2014 – 2022) and gave birth to four kids with West.
