Nick‍‍‍ Knowles announces BBC doesn’t plan to revive DIY SOS in its original ‍‍‍format.

Nick Knowles Confirms DIY SOS Axe

Nick Knowles has confirmed the story that the BBC has told him that DIY SOS in its current format will never come back because after the show was put on hold due to the financial constraints of the broadcaster, they made this decision to the producer.

After being 64, the broadcaster Nick has shared a video on his Instagram explaining the situation about the beloved show’s shutdown, saying “the end of an era” is happening.

Last week it was revealed that DIY SOS was put aside alongside various other BBC programmes. And after the latest airing of the home improvement series, it seems that tonight could be the final one. However, it now comes to light that Nick has said a version of the show will never be released again at this level, and it may be back later on at a ‘smaller and more cost-effective’ capacity.

In his message to fans on social media, he said, ‘We, naturally, are going through our paces with this situation, as there is huge uncertainty and confusion about moving ‍‌‍‍‌forward.’

Nick Knowles Fears DIY SOS May Never Return the Same

They‍‌‍‍‌ just gave their word that the programme is shelved and not terminated. Still, I have posed such a question: “Will it ever resurface in a way where it not just constructs houses but also builds hospices, charity places, etc.?” And I’ve been told that there is no way and that, if it comes back, it will be small and cost-effective.

You’ve probably seen DIY SOS, and there are at least 26,000 of you who can confirm it. So you know, you cannot do it smaller. That’s what I mean.'” Sharing the idea that the show is ending, he commented, ‘I thought I would be content to be without it, but unexpectedly this has touched me deeply.’ “I am very grateful for every single person whom we have worked with during the last 26 years. So, if you are a volunteer or a tradesman, or a supplier? You’re all loved by me. I think that working with all of you has been a real privilege. There were literally moments when we were not sure that it would come through, but now it really does seem that we have a great story. ‘This has proved to be a most unforgettable experience, and I am sure there is still a lot of work to do, but I don’t think it can ever be like DIY SOS.’ ” After the revelation, Nick confessed that he needed to get away for a while, so he went to the seaside for a little holiday to let his thoughts settle. ‘In fact, as was found out only this month, the rest will be just one of the BBC’s ways to save their famous ‍‌‍‍‌£500-millions.”

Nick: Thanks, Fans, for the Cornwall Getaway After the News

Nick‍‌‍‍‌ posted on Instagram about the places he visited in scenic locations during a trip to Cornwall. The post shared the news that he was grateful for his fans’ unwavering support during the bad times. It was an interesting post for the public about what went on behind the scenes in Nick’s life recently at the BBC.

Nick captioned one of the Instagram pictures: “Back in God’s own country. All my life I have come to Cornwall to clear my head. – Drive back slower than you drive down – they say – and it still works today.”

The celebrity continued sharing his fondness for Cornwall in the comment. After briefly mentioning the historical significance of the place, he wrote, “This weekend, the wind is howling, and the sea is crashing against the rocks in the north. But on the south side the weather is calm and gentle. I arrived like the north. I’ll return like the south. I love Cornwall.”

The TV star added in the last paragraph, “To every single person who said something about the news – your words meant so much to me and the rest of us behind the scenes at SOS Family, who are the heart & soul of the show.”

The SOS presenter Nick, in his latest revelation, spoke of his disappointment regarding a lack of ‘endless pot of money at the BBC’ while the organisation simultaneously plans a new, cheaper spin-off series, DIY SOS Rebuilt My Life, aimed only at reviewing the already finished transformations on ‍‌‍‍‌television.

Nick Shares DIY SOS Throwback Photos Amid BBC Axe Fears

Nick‍‌‍‍‌ expressed that fronting the popular show for over 20 years was a ‘honour’. As he showed off a collection of retro pictures, one of which showed Prince William and Prince Harry, on Instagram on Monday, he added, Nick.

Nick’s crew, made up of electrician Billy Byrne, plasterer Chris Frediani and designer Gabrielle Blackman, are alleged to be extremely disappointed by the choice and feel it is a ‘slap in the face’.

The BBC spokesperson said to the Daily Mail that “due to the BBC’s savings challenges, we have decided to rest DIY SOS in 2027 and produce a South Shore series instead.

“The show ‘DIY SOS Rebuilt My Life’ will present a few successes that the show had during its existence and will develop the brand on the BBC in a more cost-efficient manner in 2026. “

However, insiders have indicated that the crew’s concern is about the show being axed permanently. “It’s truly disgraceful that a television programme of the BBC, which truly gives some of the poorest people in our country a better life, is going to be discontinued by considering it too expensive,” a source ‍‌‍‍‌explained.

DIY SOS Team Devastated as BBC Shelves Show After 26 Years

DIY‍‌‍‍‌ SOS is one of the very few shows on TV that actually portrays working-class people, tens of thousands of tradesmen and women voluntarily donating their labour and often even the materials to those needing help, even when their own pockets are so light that they are only just barely making ends meet.

They told The Sun that ‘Nick and the whole crew are really upset, and they were told this was just because savings are being made to meet costs. ‘They considered it a huge insult, as so many people are doing the work and supplying the materials for free.

The TV insider also mentioned that ‘everyone was crying’ and that the crew feels the BBC ‘are abandoning’ the communities and charities desperately relying on their support. The programme started in 1999 as a modest venture where the hosts, a couple of guys, helped out by correcting the mistakes in various DIY projects.

Then, in 2010, it got changed around and was called DIY SOS: The Big Build, which brought together local craftsmen and volunteers in order to give a complete makeover to a home of a family that is suffering from a serious illness or disability.

Currently, 35 series are being aired on TV, with one of them called Bringing Dan Home that demonstrates how a whole village came together to make a house accessible for a teenager with several ‍‌‍‍‌disabilities.
