Tom Arnold is dumbfounded that his ex-wife, Roseanne Barr, has finally offered him some praise.
According to the press, Barr publicly backed Arnold when she heard that Chuck Lorre, who was part of the show’s writing team from 1990 to 1992, claimed she then husband was credited for scripts that other writers had actually written.
Predictably, the 67-year-old comedian and actor firmly denied the allegations, stating that he has ‘never’ taken credit for others’ creations.

Tom Arnold reacts after ex-Roseanne Barr backs him: ‘Hell froze over.’
‘Incredibly, I’m probably not going to say this again, but Tom Arnold is actually speaking the truth for once,’ Barr stated in her conversation with “The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.”
Very surprised, Arnold responded to the post on X, saying, ‘Never give up.’ Don’t give up. I thought it over a year later that if I could accomplish such awesome things, my first X-wife, Roseanne, would be forced to say something almost nice about me. ‘He really did stop freezing over today.’
Roseanne and Tom were first friends in the ’80s, then married in 1990 and finally divorced in 1994, but in between, Arnold served as a writer, an actor, and a producer on the ABC sitcom.
Tom Arnold denies stealing Roseanne’s writing credits, says all writers left their mark
Arnold refuted Lorre’s allegations previously. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the famous actor revealed his engagement with the scriptwriting team.
‘The entire process started when we were brainstorming for the next season of the show, either as a way to develop fun episodes or to be creative or something,’ said he.
We did not really have specific concepts for the storylines at all. We used our imagination and developed story ideas. Probably in June, our lead writer, writers, and the cast would be available, and the show would be on air for the first time in August. ‘ He also noted that Roseanne’s scripts included ‘every writer’s fingerprints’. The popular television show, a sitcom, was on air from 1988 to 1997.
After almost two decades in the television industry, in 2018, it came back for one more season before Roseanne Barr was let go, as she had made several racist posts on social media targeting Valerie Jarrett, a former senior advisor to President Obama.
After his Roseanne show, Lorre launched other successful sitcoms, including Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory.

Inside Barr and Arnold’s bitter 1994 split
A very bitter split in April 1994, when rumour spread that Arnold was having an affair with their assistant, Kim Silva, resulted in a violent fight on the set of the show and ended the friendship between Arnold and Barr, as these two well-known people, famously, had a deep split. At the time it was reported that Barr had cut up his credit cards, changed the locks on their home, filed for a divorce, and was accused of both physical and emotional abuse.
Barr, with the abuse claims, also got a restraining order, though the charges and the divorce petitions were temporarily withdrawn before she officially pursued the divorce.
It turns out Arnold’s multi-millionaire status got even bigger in the arms of the divorce as well. The former couple got separated, and it was revealed that in addition to the separation of property rights, Arnold had been getting a multimillion-dollar settlement worth about $20 million.
When the former couple separated, Barr became very close to Donald Trump, and Arnold had criticised her, saying ‘obviously’ it was racist for her to be in support of Donald Trump. Besides Barr’s physical death in the original show universe, the characters of the family were continued from 2018 in the spin-off. The Conners, with the death of her character being a very sad moment, to be sure, yet the Conners ran for seven seasons before their final one in 2025.
