Jerry Hall, 70: Wine, Cigarettes & No Gym For Texan Icon

Jerry Hall Reveals Beauty Secrets at 70

Jerry Hall will be celebrating her 70th birthday on 2nd July by throwing a party for 200 of her friends, family, plus one, Elvis, in her Henley garden.
The icon, however, feels that she doesn’t “really feel 70” and that the party-loving Texan can prove that she looks the part.
The stunning model claims to be as fabulous as ever and that she is still gracing magazine covers for Vogue as a grandmother of three, and she looks as good as she feels.
Jerry’s model daughter Lizzie revealed ‘she’s always told us that beauty comes from within,’ so it’s no surprise that she looks as good as she does.
The legendary beauty is a big advocate for dressing well and having a vivacious wardrobe; she says in British Vogue, ‘I think it’s fun to be able to dress in a way that looks good on your figure.
‘I’m very lucky I didn’t lose my figure. So I think I should be able to wear anything.’ She says, ‘I’m appalled by the notion of an older woman’s wardrobe being all beige and ugly shoes.’

Jerry Hall Keeps Skincare Simple at 70

She loves a big designer shop; she actually has more budget-friendly but holistic advice when it comes to caring for her skin.
Although she admits to rarely wearing sunscreen, Jerry has actually pared her skincare regimen down to the bare minimum, using a facial wash and face cream every day. “I use natural products, and I don’t buy anything that says anti-aging because I think that is insulting,” she said a few years ago, explaining that she buys a lot of her skincare products from her local health shop.

Jerry Swears by Natural Beauty Routine

For years, she has been using only raw coconut oil to keep her long blonde locks looking healthy and has refused to cut her hair. “There is always this thing that when you get older, you have to get your hair short and have this short blue-grey hair,” she told Vogue.
I personally think that it is a terrible look. I would strongly advise against it. We should stand up for our rights to be old and look good!’
Her holistic views also extend to her health. “I don’t go to the doctor. Never! I think it is very bad for you. I don’t want to find something wrong with me.” She said.

Jerry Hall Declines Botox and Welcomes Ageing Naturally

In her sixties, she would go and visit her Ayurvedic doctor twice a year ‘to balance my system.’
“They take my pulse, give me some herbs, and advise what I can and cannot eat,’ she said. “They also give me a massage, which is lovely—it’s like a detox. I’ve been having it for 30 years, and I think it’s brilliant.’
Unlike many of her contemporaries and ‘friends,’ including Kris Jenner, who celebrated her 70th birthday last year with a facelift, Jerry has spoken out against the boom in plastic surgeries and enhancements among Hollywood’s elder ladies, saying:
‘Look at the photos of the Oscars.’ She also said that she would not consider Botox or fillers, adding:
‘Why do we want to look younger? I have plenty of wrinkles; I don’t want to look strange; I don’t want to frighten my grandchildren.’

Jerry Enjoys Wine but Avoids Sugar

Jerry does have her vices, though; she drinks rosé every day and smokes 10 cigarettes a day.
A natural hostess, nothing pleases her more than to invite her girlfriends to spend a languid week in summer in her house, having been catered to by a private Italian chef, who always serves wine with every course.
“I like to drink wine at lunch and wine at dinner; if I have company, I’ll always have wine,” she says. She learned to be careful about food as she grew up, being 16 years old and already a fashion model, having breakfast at Parisian bakeries, falling in love with croissants, and having a weakness for chocolate mousse. But that’s all in the past, as Jerry has given up desserts and reduced her sugar intake, which she calls “very bad for you.”

Jerry Hall Credits Organic Diet and Gardening for Her Health

Not a fan of fads and not a fan of fast food, my client has always adhered to the three-meal-a-day system, full of organic vegetables and fruits.
For breakfast, she enjoys eggs or oatmeal; lunch is soup or salad; and dinner is ‘lots of stews, fish, chicken, meat, and veg.’
Growing up in Texas with four siblings, where they ‘had a very limited budget,’ made her accustomed to eating ‘the same thing until it was gone,’ she shared. ‘We had some weeks of straight carrots.’
The beautiful garden in her village of Henley, where she likes to spend her summer afternoons in a relaxed conversation with her girlfriends, also contributes to her healthy activity.
Gymming is not for her, declares Jerry. She keeps fit with a little help from her garden and some regular walks and yoga.
