Carol Vorderman posted a heartfelt Instagram message, along with a video, to honor Bonnie’s amazing career. “I have met her a few times; she is a real character,” said the presenter. “She was always full of fun, asking me questions, having a laugh. “It’s difficult to explain if you’re not Welsh what she means to us; she truly was a legend. Bonnie began her career in music in 1977 by releasing the album The World Starts Tonight. Still, it was in 1983 when Total Eclipse Of The Heart, her song, reached number one on the charts that she became famous worldwide. Interestingly, the song was initially supposed to be performed by the well-known rock singer Meat Loaf. However, because of disagreements with his record company, he didn’t record the song, and it was given to Bonnie instead. Meat Loaf’s problematic vocal cords also played a role in the decision.
Total Eclipse Of The Heart sold six million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time. It was followed by four more top-ten hits, including It’s A Heartache and Holding Out For A Hero.

Also, that year the superstar from the eighties openly talked about her getting older and also disclosed the secret of her eternally young appearance.
“I’ve been having Botox twice a year for a considerable amount of time, darling. “I haven’t had it since the Christmas before last, but I’m very well, thank you. I’m fit for my age; God knows why, but I’m still reasonably well. And I’m not retiring, ever, ever, ever. Listen to Tom Jones. He’s magnificent, isn’t he?
“He’s still got that voice, you know, and he’s ten years older than me!” Bonny noted in her recent interview with the press.

Bonnie Tyler’s Final Months Marked by Health Battle
The singer was forced to cancel all her shows till the end of August after sustaining serious injuries during surgery.
In April, the singer started feeling excruciating pains in her abdomen shortly after her arrival in Portugal, where she owns a second house, after undergoing tests in London. It was then reported in May that Bonnie had been taken to the hospital after suffering severe bowel perforation and needing emergency surgery.
However, further complications forced the doctors to put the singer in an induced coma. A representative for the star released a statement saying, “Bonnie has been placed in an induced coma by her doctors to allow her to recover fully from the surgery… We know that you are all sending your best wishes and kind messages to Bonnie and that you respect her privacy and want her to concentrate on her recovery. We will, of course, release another statement when the time is right.”
The Portuguese press then picked up rumors that the star had suffered a cardiac arrest when doctors tried to remove her from the induced coma several weeks later. As a result of the health scare, the singer canceled all her upcoming engagements, including the appearances at the Sunshine Festival in Worcester this summer and a series of concerts in Europe.
Bonnie was also due to perform in Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on December 17.
