The Star Wars: Forgotten Enemy Fan Film is Proof That Fans Are Capable of Creating Awesome, Original Star Wars Stories

The Star Wars franchise has had its ups and downs over the years but personally, I find that the worst issue that the series has is originality. There are so many stories to be told in the vast and fascinating sci-fi universe and yet we always see the same few characters. It’s not surprising then that some of the most original and interesting stories in Star Wars come in different media forms- such as video games or comics. Fan films are also a great way for original concepts to come the fore and the recently released Star Wars: Forgotten Enemy is the perfect example of this.

I don’t want to get into the plot too much here as I don’t want to ruin the story, but it’s an awesome, original story that manages to do a lot with its fifteen minute run time. As well as being impressively well written- feeling very much part of the Star Wars universe whilst maintaining an new and fresh feel-, the film becomes all the more impressive when you realise that it was made on a budget of approximately zero dollars. There is so much to admire about the fan film- the effects, the editing and the cinematography are all perfectly on point- but I couldn’t help but admire the film even more so upon seeing that there was no budget for the project. The film has come about purely from nothing but love and dedication to the Star War series by talented fans. Talented fans who went and above and beyond to create an exciting fan film that also looks amazing thanks to their hard work and effort. Just go watch it for yourself and you will see what I mean!

Credit to the team behind Star Wars: Forgotten Enemy: Bobby Devlin (writer, director, writer and actor), Andrew List (assistant director, cinematographer and VFX), Jonathan Morgan (writer and actor), Joshua Lawson (writer and actor), Julian Bell (additional VFX), Al Jones (additional VFX), Zion Davis (3D model), Kim Devlin (actor) and Parademics (music).
