Kellie Pickler to Appear on “American Idol” for the First Time in 3 Years Since Husband’s Death
Kellie Pickler is going to do a rare public appearance on American Idol to commemorate her coming three years since her husband’s death, Kyle Jacobs, day.
On the episode of Wednesday, April 29, the host of the show’s official companion podcast Danielle Fishel confessed that the country singer will feature on the next episode of the hit talent show.
Fishel said, “Next week, we will witness your top five performing. We are going to have a blast like it’s 2006 when some of the favorite top 10 finalists from that legendary season will come back to sing along with this season’s top five.”
Fishel, 44, confirmed that Pickler, 39, is one of the 2006 finalists who will reunite on the show for the special episode that will be aired on Monday, May 4.

The country singer is going to be on the show in the new episode as American Idol revealed the news during its official companion podcast on the April 29 episode. Fishel, the host, said on the show that it will be a very special one as the top five contestants will perform with the fan-favorite finalists who will be from the 2006 season of the show.
Pickler, who was the sixth place finalist in the fifth season, will also perform alongside other IDOL’s alumni such as Taylor Hicks, Paris Bennett, Elliot Yamin, and Bucky Covington. Furthermore, the episode will be a nostalgic one featuring the return of two of the original judges, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
After her time on Idol, Pickler has recorded four country albums. Nevertheless, she has been out of the public limelight since Jacobs passed away in February 2023 at the age of 49.

Besides that, she expressed gratitude to her “family, friends, and supporters” for the innumerable letters, calls, and messages, saying that their kindness has grabbed her very much.
“It has really touched my soul and is a big part of how I am getting through the very difficult time in my life, ” Pickler revealed. “As many of you have told me, you are all in my prayers.”
