Daniel Craig keeps a low profile in a hat and sunglasses as he arrives in Greece for his new prison drama filming

Daniel Craig Spotted in Athens as He Films New Prison Drama With Cillian Murphy

Trying‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ to avoid attention, Daniel Craig was seen when he landed at Athens International Airport, Greece, on Saturday, as he picked the spot for his new prison drama shooting.
A very 58-year-old man who looked very simple and natural was wearing a grey Champion hoodie under a black shirt along with jeans and, for a final touch, light tan suede boots. Not to be recognized, he covered his face with dark glasses and a black cap when walking through the airport.

Casting of the film is a bit of a secret, but Craig and Cillian Murphy, 49, are believed to be the main characters in the film, the title of which is still unknown, and the producers are really not willing to give away the plot. The only thing revealed to the public is that the prison warden, a role performed by Craig, is the one who is trying to impose order on the prisoner’s resistance, a character played by Murphy, in a very strict correctional ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌setting.

Daniel Craig and Cillian Murphy to star in Greek film about prison psychological thriller

Daniel Craig was seen getting off his plane at Athens International Airport, Greece on Saturday.

The actor, 58, tried to mask his identity as he was going to film his prison movie with Cillian Murphy.

Daniel went for a grey Champion hoodie instead of just a black t-shirt for comfort, worn with jeans and tan suede boots. The rest of his look was made up by a pair of sunglasses and a black cap which also helped in masking his ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌identity.
The story, which is as yet untitled, revolves around a prison chief, Craig, who desires to dominate a rebellious prisoner, Murphy. Eventually, their confrontations lead to a war of wits between the two. Michelle Williams is reportedly playing the warden’s wife while Mia Threapleton is the love interest of the prisoner.
After May, the team is expected to wrap up the shooting and relocate to the main part of ‍ ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌Athens. They are planning to close the project in Corfu. No date of release has been announced yet, and the complete cast list is also not out.

On the other hand, James Bond enthusiasts have to wait long as reportedly the next 007 movie is still two years away, this will be the longest interval between Bond films in the franchise which has been running for 64 years. The series has not had an extended break before, as fans had to wait six years between Licence to Kill in 1989 and GoldenEye in 1995.

New James Bond Film Scheduled for 2028, Denis Villeneuve to Direct

The last James Bond film with Daniel Craig was 2021’s No Time To Die and since then, the search for his successor is still on. If the speculated spring 2028 release is true, it will mean the public will have to wait a long seven years between Bond movies, the longest interval in the 64-year history of the franchise.

Besides a new film, big changes are also happening to the production side as the Broccoli family is passing the creative authority to Amazon MGM Studios after 30 years. Amazon that bought Bond’s parent studio in 2022 is the one who started this new chapter for the legendary spy series.

Denis Villeneuve, the director of Dune, has been officially named as the director of the movie, and Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders is the writer of the scenario, a combination that has generated high enthusiasm among the fans for a radical new direction of the franchise.

New James Bond Film Confirmed for 2028 as Production Team Prioritizes Getting It Right

A‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ person close to the production has assured that the crew are giving quality the first place over speed. “Bond will only be back in 2028. The production mentality has changed from ‘Let’s quickly do this’ to ‘Let’s be sure that we will do this right,'”
They also revealed that director Denis Villeneuve wants to have a clear direction for the storyline after finishing Dune 3, and before that Steven Knight will be going through different versions of the script and only after that will the two determine the last one – the whole summer is the minimum time this process is expected to take.
In fact, the source revealed to The Sun that pre-production is planned for January 2027 while main filming will be taking place in the summer. Since post-production usually lasts from nine months to a year, releasing in 2028 is the most feasible timeline for seeing Bond’s return to the cinema after a long ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌wait.
