Meghan Markle said she has been a subject of a never-ending online bullying campaign for several years.
On the third day of her and Prince Harry tour of Australia, Meghan Markle referred to herself as “the most trolled person in the whole world”. At Batyr, a youth mental health organization located at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, the Duchess of Sussex had a chat session with the students about the effects of relentless online bullying. She revealed that she had been bullied and attacked daily for 10 years.

While talking to the students, she not only recognized the harshness of online conduct but also encouraged them to be resilient when facing cyberbullying.”

Meghan Markle says the business of social media is “totally based on and dependent on cruelty to get clicks” and even goes as far as to say that the industry is unlikely to change. On the other hand, Prince Harry talked about the role that social media can have in making someone feel lonely, but said that going to therapy was the thing that really helped him. He explained that he didn’t go to therapy the moment he realized he needed help but rather that he hit a breaking point, trying to illustrate the moment when he was lying on the kitchen floor and you know, finally thought maybe I should try therapy.
Harry, who relocated to Montecito with his wife Meghan in 2020 from the UK, shared that he could not simply live in a city as far as his mental wellness was concerned. So later the same day, the duo took part in the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne where Harry made a keynote presentation on mental health in the workplace and reminisced about the sorrow he felt after the death of his mother Princess Diana in 1997.

Being constantly watched in a “goldfish bowl” added a lot of hardships to Harry’s life, he revealed. Without a mission in life, this kind of pressure can “break you” he admitted. At different points in his life, he felt “lost, betrayed and completely powerless” he confessed.
When Brendan Nelson and Harry spoke, the prince remembered how he really wanted to walk away from his royal life after his mother’s death, “I don’t want this job, ” he said. The desire to leave the institution came from a moment of great resentment when he blamed it for “killing my mum.” As a result, he “buried his head in the sand” emotionally for years. Later, Harry came to the realization that his mother would want him to use his rare position and resources to “make a difference in the world.”
