Dylan Carter, a talented singer who was among the contestants of season 24 of The Voice, has passed away at the young age of 24. Carter was involved in a car crash and died on Saturday, April 25, in Colleton County, South Carolina, as per the report.
The news was confirmed by Moncks Corner Mayor Thomas Hamilton Jr. in a Facebook post on Sunday, April 26. Carter was to be the musical guest for the town on Monday, April 27.
“Our family is grieving over the loss of Dylan Carter, ” Mayor Hamilton conveyed his sentiments. The mayor acknowledged Carter’s great talent and the way he regularly showcased his music at local events. “He was recognized and respected by so many because of his kindness and charm, and his loss will be a source of great sorrow to us, ” the mayor said.

On Saturday, April 25, Carter passed away as a result of a car accident in Colleton County, South Carolina. The Mayor of Moncks Corner, Thomas Hamilton Jr., made the announcement on Sunday giving some details about Carter who has a concert on Monday and saying that Carter was quite more than an entertainer to the town, but a very close friend as well.
“As a gesture of our deepest sympathies, the Town of Moncks Corner Council and staff send their heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of Dylan during this very troubling time, ” the mayor penned.
After posting about a rainbow over the Moncks Corner Municipal Complex, Hamilton added, “He is with his mother now.” At The Voice, Carter tearfully revealed that his mother, Julie, had died in October 2022.

Corporal Nick Pye from the South Carolina Highway Patrol relayed to PEOPLE the precise information of the fatal incident that perfectly correlates with the timing of Dylan Carter’s accident. He revealed that at 11:22 p.m. on Saturday a 2026 Tesla was involved in a single-vehicle collision after veering off the road, hitting a curb, a utility pole, and a fence before flipping over. The driver was rushed to a local hospital where the driver unfortunately succumbed to injuries. The crash is still being investigated.
Reba McEntire, who was Dylan’s coach on The Voice, also paid her respects to the late artist by posting a tribute on her Instagram Stories.
