Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Recalls “Feeling Horrible” To Discover That Diddy Was Allegedly Violent To Her And That She Never Made A Complaint ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌(Exclusive)

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’ Day Finds Out About an Alleged Sexual Assault by Diddy Through Witness Affidavit in Netflix Docuseries

In the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, Aubrey O’Day, 41, talks about an alleged sexual assault by Sean “Diddy” Combs—however, it was not from her personal memory.
O’Day was actually reading a court document from a witness affidavit, which was filed two years ago in a civil suit against Combs. According to the statement by the witness, the part of 2005 was an incident where O’Day was found to be half naked (waist down) and drunk in a studio room of New York City. The witness statement further goes on to state that Combs was allegedly assaulting her and another man was also involved.
O’Day said she doesn’t remember the incident at all but, getting to know about the affidavit has made her think differently about her past. What shocked her the most was the idea that she might have been ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌drugged.

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Told People She Was Deeply Shaken by the Account of the Affidavit

During the interview with People, Aubrey O’Day shared the extent to which she was emotionally shaken by the account of the affidavit, an experience she especially found disturbing since, according to her, the account does not cohere with her lifestyle at all.
“I am a person who doesn’t drink or do any such things,” O’Day disclosed in an interview conducted via Zoom from Los Angeles. “It wasn’t like I could have been, you know, ‘Oh, I could have been,’ or ‘Oh, I was doing…’ So, for me, there was none of that.”
This allegation is just one among the many that the Sean Combs: The Reckoning documentary delves into. The documentary was released last December and it looks at decades of accusations against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Combs has consistently denied any wrongdoing and, reportedly, he is still being sued in close to a hundred civil lawsuits even after being convicted in a federal criminal case last October.
However, upon being asked if she thought that Combs had sexually assaulted her, O’Day simply couldn’t say it.
“I just don’t think that it would be right for me to say that,” she said. “I am very aware of the fact that a man’s life is at stake ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌here.”

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Reacts Emotionally to Netflix Docuseries Despite Hesitation to Watch

Sean Combs’ representative, Juda Engelmayer, told People, “We will not be commenting on individual allegations made in this Netflix hit piece.”
Aubrey O’Day revealed that she wasn’t going to watch Sean Combs: The Reckoning when it came out. “It was really tough for me the day it came out,” she said. At that time, she was expected to be at rehearsal to get ready for her stage comeback with Danity Kane—the girl group that Combs put together in 2005 through Making the Band. However, the documentary quickly took over the news and social media, so it was hard to stay away.
Director Alex Stapleton suggested she shouldn’t watch it yet. “Initially, he said don’t watch it yet. Wait until the tour is over or at least after rehearsal,” O’Day shared. But she didn’t listen to the advice and saw it.
“At midday, my body acted before my brain could understand what was happening,” O’Day remarked. “I was hyperventilating, tears were running down my face, and I was crying very ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌loudly.”

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Says the Docuseries Raised New Questions and Pushed Her to Seek Answers

Aubrey O’Day revealed that the docuseries made her face certain questions which she had not entirely thought of earlier, such as who could be held responsible besides Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“Who, other than him, would be the people responsible in all of this?” she wondered aloud. “What kind of action can really bring change and so these things don’t happen again?”
O’Day furthermore mentioned that she was contacted by Homeland Security who warned her about what she could say—both in the 50 Cent-produced docuseries and in public. She mentioned that she was trying to find out what she could say without breaking the law while at the same time coming to terms with what she was being told about her own abuse.
“I don’t even know if I was raped, and I don’t want to know,” she said in the series. Despite that, she kept on looking for answers, even getting to the point of contacting other women.
“I saw stuff and I reached out to girls… wondering,” she recalled. “Because I saw stuff and I was like, ‘Oh, that must be a ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌thing.’”

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Reflects on Interactions With Diddy After Watching the Docuseries

While learning more about the situation, Aubrey O’Day acknowledged that she subsequently started reliving the memories she had with Sean “Diddy” Combs. According to her, one of the moments when Combs sent her sexually suggestive emails and pictures was during her period on Making the Band.
O’Day shows a message in the film that she is reading, March 23, 2008, which makes use of graphic language and the abuse of the power of the writer in the sexual statements he allegedly made directly to her. The email, she points out, was signed with the usual sign-off of Combs at that time: “God bless. Diddy. God is the Greatest.”
O’Day states that her going back over the details of those messages together with the revelations about Combs has put her in a situation where she has to rethink such instances that she had a hard time locating in the right ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌context.

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Claims She Was Fired From Danity Kane After She Rejected Diddy’s Sexual Advances

Aubrey O’Day claims Sean “Diddy” Combs made sexual advances to her several times, which she rejected, and she thinks that’s the reason she was let go. In 2008, Combs publicly declared that he fired her from Danity Kane, a point she now sees as a retaliation.
“I genuinely believed that I was being let go because I refused to be sexually involved,” O’Day states in the documentary, turning what used to be framed as a reality‑TV spat into something more significant.
Besides, she confesses, she has been resisting the persona Combs devised of her by branding her “overly raunchy” and “promiscuous” for years.
“If I were raunchy or promiscuous he would have adored me,” says O’Day. “‘Bad for business’ was never right—the band was built around me, according to his very words,” she ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌adds.

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Regrets Not Reporting Alleged Assault as She Processes Diddy’s Conviction

Aubrey O’Day shares that it was very painful for her to witness the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs and see the public reaction to his split verdict, particularly since she knew she had never reported her own alleged assault. Combs has been given a 50-month federal prison sentence for prostitution-related convictions and is due to be released in May 2028.
O’Day recollects that she was crushed when the New York statute of limitations expired in 2023. Even though lawyers were pushing her to write a complaint, she didn’t. She admits, “I really felt awful,” but also emphasizes that she kept her honesty, something her lawyer parents had taught her.
O’Day admits to having been exhausted by crying at concerts, another reason which precipitated her stay at the ER in December. She has never been absent from a show, so work was definitely not the reason for her going to the hospital, but she says the trauma keeps building up and it affects her even when she is in places that are not always ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌safe.

Aubrey‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ O’Day Picks Up New Angle, Not Closure, from Diddy Documentary Scene

Aubrey O’Day claims that she is in a way dealing with an emotional landscape of empathy, anger, and grief. The recent documentary of Sean “Diddy” Combs was not a closure to her but rather it gave her a new perspective on her past.
O’Day confesses her world has been turned upside down over these three months. “I have been discussing trauma constantly. I have not yet recovered from any of it”, she says.
For her, recovery is more of a continual decision than a destination. She is able to maintain inner balance through breathwork, ice baths, and reiki, the methods which she learned while living in Bali.
“I’m not sure it’s something that goes away completely,” she tells of her trauma. “It never vanishes. It just locates itself somewhere in your being where it is under control once more.” In the meantime, O’Day is satisfied with that as she is willing to continue her ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌life.
