Cher Lloyd Gets Emotional Over Marriage Breakdown, Dad’s Passing.
Cher Lloyd turned 32 last year and became a household name after her performance on The X Factor in 2010. However, the singer’s year has been one of the toughest so far, and her situation is really a cause for concern. She first lost her father, Darren, before facing the painful end of her marriage. Cher, who was married to Craig Monk, revealed the news on social media, telling her Instagram followers: “I tossed the wedding ring in the trash.”
The singer has also spoken about the deep grief she has experienced following her father’s death. She said that her father’s health had greatly deteriorated and eventually passed away. This combination of two very tragic experiences for Cher seems to have overwhelmed her, and she then posted a video showing her emotional state while narrating the difficulties she experienced with words only.
In a very emotional post with a selfie-video clip of a crying self she released on Instagram Stories, a terribly upset Cher said, “I cry very rarely online, but these past days are just so sad for me. I can barely cope today.”

Cher Lloyd: ‘Grief Is The Worst Pain’ As She Deals With Loss And Divorce
Just losing my father and feeling like a little girl once again. And grieving never gets any easier; it’s… It’s the worst pain you have ever felt.
People always mention that it will eventually get easier for you over time, but honestly, I doubt this ever really gets better. I think that’s who I will forever be. Cher recently shared the news that her father, Darren, lost the battle with disease in April.
If that’s not heavy enough for you, then maybe this other bit of bad news will help make it a little bit lighter: one month after her father’s death, she also lost her husband in the divorce case. The previously happy couple married rapidly just a week before the end of 2013 and decided to marry again in the year 2014, after having a very fast-paced love affair.
Cher, 32, Deals With Grief And Divorce With Daughters Delilah-Rae And Eliza
Cher Lloyd and Craig Monk eventually began a happy life together, raising two little daughters named Delilah-Rae, who was born in May 2018, and Eliza Violet, whose arrival date came in September 2023. A mere 16-year-old when she joined The X Factor 2009 season, she was fourth and later contracted with Sir Cowell’s Syco company for a song deal, which resulted in her having a number one hit with “Swagger Jagger.” After recently dropping some hints of making new music, fans have obviously responded enthusiastically.
