Rosie O’Donnell says her latest facelift ended up costing more than what you’d pay for a brand-new car.

Rosie O’Donnell Talks About Her Facelift

Out of nowhere, Rosie O’Donnell mentioned getting a facelift months ago – odd move for someone who used to knock such choices. Though firm against it before, she now says she went through with the surgery anyway. Her stance shifted even though her past words were sharp on the topic. The change came quietly, without warning signs or big announcements. One moment resistance; next, acceptance rolled in sideways.

Back in January, the comedian got surgery and mentioned it later in a Substack piece on May 25. She laughed about the price, saying it took more cash than she’d ever spent on any vehicle
Fear wasn’t just about looks, O’Donnell admitted – she’d linked face lifts to a betrayal of what she stood for, feminism clashing with the idea of resisting age. Yet another layer beneath her pause.
She penned those words like a quiet promise.

Not once did she imagine stepping into that role. A leader emerged anyway, though she’d sworn against it. Every woman who refused to bend found her name whispered in their circles. Never say never became her shadow. The title stuck without asking.
“I thought it was a betrayal,” O’Donnell continued. “Of feminism. Of aging. Of our team of women worldwide.”

She Claimed That No One Noticed Her Facelift.

The comedian mentioned that she was going to great lengths to accept her aging and weight loss appearance changes. “I went through the motions in an evolved way,” Rosie said. “And try to say things like, ‘This is natural. This is deserved.'” It came to a point when she wondered if accepting should be done to the extent of lying. “There’s a point acceptance becomes a lie,” she concluded.

Although she finally got the job done at the beginning of the year, O’Donnell poked fun at the fact that no one had supposedly acknowledged the change. “Not a single person. “Not a friend, not a stranger, not even those who are practically obliged to pay me compliments,” she said.
Rosie admitted that even her child, Clay, was oblivious to the change, although they had previously joked that “we wouldn’t even be able to respect” her if she ever got a facelift.

Rosie O’Donnell Defends Getting a Facelift

The comedian revealed in this context that she didn’t want to give her child the message that a person’s body must fit any framework, not even feminism. “If I am teaching Clay anything, it can’t be that my body belongs to an idea either,” Rosie wrote. “Even a good idea. Even feminism.”

She went on to say, “Because that is still not freedom. That is just another authority dictating to you what you are allowed to do with your own face.” O’Donnell also revealed why she came out with her story of the facelift; she added that she has never enjoyed the idea of keeping secrets and wants to stay open to discussing her experiences.
“For the girl I was, the woman I am. And all those joining my ranks,” she wrote. “As we carry on in Act 3, this is me.”
