It is love again for Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes.
After more than two years of dating, the “Cowboys Cry Too” singer and the Outer Banks actor broke up but now, three months later, they have let the cat out of the bag that they have gotten back together.
“Messy year for the heart, messy year from the outside coming in, messy year for the way it suddenly became out of our hands and a portrayal of it,” Kelsea wrote on her Instagram Stories Dec. 31. “What I’ll say, and all I really want to share with my personal life indefinitely, is that I really love love. I believe in it, I believe in him, and I believe in breaking patterns.”
The 32-year-old—whose rep confirmed their breakup to E! News in September—shared the post on top of a picture of her and Chase hugging each other in front of a sunset. She also added a sharp comment aimed at their followers: “go kiss your person and stop speculating.”

Chase Stokes reposted the same sunset hug picture on Instagram as Kelsea Ballerini did when she softly announced their reconciliation. He added his caption, a retrospective of the last year.
“One thing I’ve realized this year: not to take the most beautiful things for granted because after living for 33 years they are still fleeting,” wrote the Outer Banks actor. “Own up to it, learn from your errors. Get support from love and say it often.”
He went on to say, “2026, my year of growth, my year of truth. Starting here, starting now. Happy new years.”
The 33‑year‑old not only threw in some shots of Kelsea in his post but also a picture where he has his arm around her while they pose next to a mountain and some trees. Then there is a photo of the “Love Me Like You Mean It” singer giving her dog Dibs a forehead kiss.
Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes Make Their Relationship Official On Instagram After “Messy Year”
Less than two months after the rumors of reconciliation began to spread, the very first one Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes make public is their latest update. Back in November videos of them dancing to ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” in Dubrovnik, Croatia, went viral on social media.
Right up until New Year’s Eve, the couple didn’t comment on their status. In December, Kelsea figuratively countered the rumors to the fans and asked them to respect her wishes.
“What I would really want if I had a single favor to ask, is that people would honor the fact that I am trying to make my personal life private now,” she said in her Instagram rewrite. “If it’s not coming from me, it’s not from me. And that is very important to me right now in protecting my peace.”
