While waiting in line to purchase french fries, the two individuals first became acquainted with one another, as the host of America’s Got Talent recounted during an interview on Today with Hoda & Jenna. There was a time when I borrowed money from her. Even though I did not know her, she loaned me money when I needed a few dollars to buy french fries. When she loaned me money, she was probably just 14 years old at the time. Howie went on to say that ever since then, he has been making amends to her.

The pair has experienced many significant milestones in the years that have passed since they first met, including the births of their three children and many artistic collaborations. While Howie was making an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan in 2019, he made a joke about how his “lovely wife” is not the same person he used to know. He made a witty remark, “Now she’s in love with Bradley Cooper and not me,” as a picture of Terry and the star from A Star Is Born appeared on the screen.

In September of 2023, he told us that the key to his marriage is that Terry “doesn’t speak or understand a word of English.” He has continued to joke about his partnership in a fun and kind manner. “It’s a joke, but communication is overrated,” he said. “Even though we have been married for 43 years, we have not spoken to each other at any point.”
