The official logline that was published by the source states that the series, which was created by Scott Rosenbaum and executive produced by him, “follows a highly skilled privately contracted team of operatives as they recover hostages across the globe from some of the most exotic and equally dangerous locations on the planet.”

The series is also being produced by Purcell, his wife Tish Cyrus, and Dannah Axelrod Summers of HopeTown Entertainment. The story was inspired by “the life of a real covert intelligence officer who is still active in the field today,” and Purcell is acting as an executive producer on the project.

Purcell and Miller played the roles of Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, respectively, in the original version of Prison Break, which aired on Fox for a total of four seasons between 2001 and 2009. After being adapted into a television movie with the title The Final Break, the program was brought back for a fifth season in the year 2017.

The previous CEO of Fox Entertainment, Charlie Collier, said in August 2019 that there were no plans to restart the series, although there were rumors that the show would be returning for a sixth season.

“There’s no plan right now to revive Prison Break or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come with a story that they think is the right time to tell, we are so ready to listen because those are some franchises of which I’m so proud and feel so fortunate that they’re in our stable,” Collier stated at the time of interview.

In the years that have passed since then, Purcell and Miller have appeared together on the big screen in respective roles on Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash. It has been about a year since Purcell and his wife married at a wedding in August of 2023, and now they are working together and collaborating.
