At The Paley Honors Spring Gala, the stars looked back at the continuous success of the legendary detective series which is still being broadcast worldwide almost 50 years after it was first aired.
Jackson confessed that the show’s long-term popularity still amazes her.
“It’s great, ” she answered. “I mean, for us to be here 50 years later, 50 years after the premiere, and the show is still on television all over the world, hasn’t even had a break, it’s just really unbelievable.”
However, nowadays, the actress opts for peace and quiet far from Hollywood. Living on a farm in Virginia, Jackson laughed that she doesn’t really want to be in the spotlight 24/7 again.
“I’d rather be on the farm than spot a red carpet any day of the week, ” she smiled.
Kate Jackson has found peace in leaving Hollywood behind, a peace she never knew while working in showbiz, she tells the feature.
“What I love is that there’s no pressure. It’s just splendid, you have the animals and a few friends… it’s a great way to live, ” Jackson added. “It is far better than… sometimes it can be a bit much.”

Besides movies, she has had a long personal story too. She has been married four times and finally she met lasting love with doctor Brad Allen; they got married in 1997 after she had met him during her father’s stay at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.
