Brandi Glanville claims she contracted ringworm in her throat, and she thinks it came from sexual contact.

On her Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star opened up about a scary health scare. She said she thinks she caught what she called “sexually transmitted ringworm” from an ex who worked in adult entertainment. Chatting with former adult film star Lisa Ann, she got into how easily some fungal infections can spread on set. According to Lisa Ann, ringworm was “very common on set,” and she added that most people are not aware of the signs to look for.

“We even had to teach our makeup artists that whenever a new member of the talent would arrive, they first have to get naked under a window where there is good light, and then they would inspect their bodies to see if they have any patches because it is very contagious, ” recalled Lisa Ann.

Brandi Glanville said she spent months getting tested over fears of a fungal infection.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star admitted that she was totally in the dark regarding ringworms. Glanville thought she had some kind of infection in her throat but a friend hinted that maybe it was ringworm, the star recalled on the podcast. “I had no idea about it and we are fighting with this strange thing, ” she confessed.

Glanville also noted that the fungal infection becomes hard to detect when it is going deeper into the body. “You notice it when it’s on the outside of the skin but, they can burrow inside, like if it’s in your throat, they can burrow deeply into your ears and all that, ” she said.

She said that it was months of her trying to understand the unexplained health symptoms and then basic information about ringworm infections came to her. Citing Mayo Clinic, ringworm is a very common fungal infection of skin, hair or nails caused by fungi and is highly contagious although it is not caused by a worm.

Brandi Glanville suspects her new health problems are related to a boyfriend who was wrestling and might have brought home and given her a fungus. “He was a wrestler, ” the reality TV star said when explaining her thinking about the possibility of her being exposed to ringworm. Also, Glanville confessed that she is still not sure of the root cause of her physical condition. She said, “Maybe it’s staph and ringworm, both, because… I can’t tell”.

Brandi Glanville said that doctors had a hard time figuring out what had caused her facial disfigurement and various health symptoms that kept on troubling her for the entire duration of months.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, the reality star said that one of the doctors had told her “that it could be a parasite, but they’re not really sure.” Her stress-induced angioedema diagnosis was stress-induced as per her. Mayo Clinic describes the condition as swelling of deeper layers of the skin which either occur along with hives or without them.

Glanville told PEOPLE, “I was suffering so much pain with the angioedema and I was covered with a rash.” After her diagnosis, the symptoms persisted and in fact, she suffered from them to an extent that compelled her to carry on with her search for the solution.

Earlier in February, she, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, said she had been informed by the doctors that the 20 -year-old ruptured breast implants that she had been wearing were causing her health issues. Glanville revealed that before knowing the root cause, she had spent a lot of money in excess of $70, 000 in basically finding the solution to the condition that she said not only made it impossible for her to live her life normally but also changed her physically.
