Not even a separated husband of hers, Sophie Grégoire is not letting the Justin Trudeau’s romancing with Katy Perry “trigger” her.
The Canadian public speaker had a very different kind of conversation with the media when she was on the Arlene Is Alone podcast recently.
Responding to a question from hostess Arlene Dickinson about how she “stays cool” in the face of the media frenzy around Trudeau and Perry, Grégoire, 50, said that it is an impact that she shoots from her side of the story but it is still true that she is affected.

“We’re human after all and things do get to us,” Sophie Grégoire confessed, referring it to being “normal” that she gets emotional upon seeing her separated husband Justin Trudeau’s new relationship with Katy Perry.
She pointed out, “It is entirely up to you how you respond to things. Therefore, I decide to listen to the music rather than the noise.”
Grégoire admitted that the spotlight is quite a challenge but she insisted that her reaction is still hers alone. “The woman I want to be through this is my decision,” she commented.
“Does it imply that I am without emotions? That I don’t shed tears, cry, scream, or laugh? No!”
In the end, she is letting herself to feel all the emotions—like anger and disappointment—yet, she has chosen to put her family’s love and care above everything else.

Once a duo, in 2005–2023, Sophie Grégoire and Justin Trudeau, partners now mom and dad together, Sophie Grégoire and Justin Trudeau are raising their three children: Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
“We live separate lives, but we share one family life,” Grégoire said. “And I think that we need two different people from a couple … to separate their lives.”
She continued, “It is not always easy to live, but it is very mature.”

In July, the 53-year-old Justin Trudeau and 41-year-old Katy Perry were first rumored to be a couple after they were seen having dinner together in Montreal.
In the following month, it was reported that their brief romantic involvement had “chilled” because Trudeau was not comfortable with the attention from the media.
But, in fact, the two lovebirds were ignoring the news of their separation when late October pictures of them sharing a passionate kiss on Perry’s yacht went viral. Thus, at the end of the month, they confirmed publicly that they were a couple at Perry’s birthday party in Paris.
