Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Break-Up Goes “Dramatic,” Source Reports

Nicole Kidman took the step of quitting Keith Urban on Sept. 30 in Nashville and is divorced from him. The actress gave the reason as irreconcilable differences. However, an insider from the family, says that the choice did not happen by a long mile.
Even though the Kidman, 58, was the one to file, the source tells PEOPLE that she first thought their marriage could be rescued by her. But now, the insider talks of “dramatic” separation and Kidman’s indignant reaction, quoting her as saying, “She is hurting and feeling betrayed.”
“What has happened just to Keith is that he hasn’t told the truth to her,” the source says. “She wanted them to make it and thought she had the strength and will to do it, but it looks like he is gone already.”

“It Is Heartbreaking to Her”

Nicole Kidman is reportedly in a total shock after the split, as revealed by the source. “She is devastated. She is surprised,” the informant comments about the separation.
On June 25, 2006, Kidman, 58, and Urban, 57, tied the knot. They are not only a couple but also parents of two girls — Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Besides, Kidman has a daughter Bella, 32, and a son Connor, 30, from her past marriage to Tom Cruise.

The people who know the couple well say that their recent behavior was the main cause of the rift. An insider from Keith Urban’s camp informed PEOPLE that he “just needs to get through his stuff.”
A Kidman insider chimed in, “He has been behaving inappropriately for a long time, and this was not a case of them just drifting apart.”
Additionally, another source told PEOPLE in this week’s issue, “They were going in different directions with their lives, and after he quietly organized his own place, it became clear that it was a done deal.”

A Break “Long Time Coming”

It is rumored that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban went their separate ways earlier this summer, and PEOPLE confirmed their breakup on Sept. 29. Already the next day, Kidman filed for divorce.
While one insider labeled the separation as a ‘dramatic incident,’ a source from Urban’s camp claimed that most people who knew him saw it as less of a shock and more of a slow unraveling: “For those around him, this has felt more like a gradual drift than some big shocking break.”
It is said that in summer separation, when Urban was on tour, Kidman with the couple’s daughters were “inseparable.” A family source mentioned that Kidman loving Nashville living very much where she has established a small community of her own. “It’s the ideal place for her kids to grow,” the source further said.
