During Bplex: Fire and Ash world premiere in Hollywood on Dec. 1, Lisa Ann Walter talked about her younger years when she didn’t fully realize that her body was “hot.”
“It was quite a strange period for women in the ’90s,” the 62-year-old actress told the reporters. “I had an amazing figure. I was 36-24-36. I was like hot … Only I didn’t think of myself as that back then. I used to think of myself as ‘cute for a comic,’ and I really should have been … I really should have done Playboy. That’s what I should have done!”
Walter also made a joke about a time when she was “very blonde” and “solidly tramped it up.”

Lisa Ann Walter was so excited to promote Abbott Elementary that she said, “It is definitely not a work when you go out and have to talk about a show which, first of all, you would really, genuinely, as a viewer, enjoy … I really like the show. I think it is very funny. I find it very hard to come up with something that I could say which I don’t already know because I think the show does a lot of good things in this world.”
She also referred to the cast and crew as “a family,” thus emphasizing the tightly-knit band of people on the inside.

Lisa Ann Walter had a bit of a secret when she said that the recent episodes of Abbott Elementary feature “a couple that we just shot that were a bit of a game changer for several episodes.” She joked that if she gave away the details, Quinta Brunson, the creator and star, would probably be mad at her, but she did drop a hint that the changes might be around the character Jacob.
In 2023, the series vied for and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, a trophy that went also to the cast. In the same year, it also won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series — Comedy or Musical.
