JoJo Siwa, 22, decided to share a TikTok video to give an update on her condition after she had posted a photo showing herself on a stretcher a couple of hours before a planned performance at the Mall of America on Friday, Nov. 28. Referring to her recovery as “like a boomerang,” the “Karma” singer revealed that she had been “in the hospital” after she had burst with stomach pains. “So basically, every time that I have been dancing for the last couple of days or even just walking or doing anything, my stomach would just hurt very, very much,” Siwa explained in the ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌video.

JoJo Siwa in a TikTok video talking about her pictures on a stretcher gave an update just before her Nov. 28 Mall of America show: “And out of the blue, it just kind of went away, and so I was like, ‘Oh, maybe it’s that time of the month, maybe it’s a cramp, I don’t know.’” She went on to say that the pain got worse on Friday morning — sleeping it off didn’t help — and she recalled, “I laid down, I closed my eyes, and I was like, ‘I can’t breathe.’”
Siwa said she got into the bathtub to relax her muscles and that it made things “100 times worse.” “I was in the [bathtub] for maybe four minutes, and all of a sudden I thought that I had to get out immediately because I was going to lose my consciousness and I was going to vomit,” she said, later adding that she was taken to the hospital before the ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌show.

Siwa mentioned that she called her mom when the pain got too much and after talking to her mom, they decided to call 911. EMTs that came to the scene were a bit confounded as to what had happened since her vital signs looked normal. At the hospital, she was given some pain relief medicine and an ultrasound, which eventually led to the revelation that “my one ovary had a cyst that exploded and it was my stomach that was filling up with blood,” Siwa stated.
She pointed out that it was the most terrible pain she had ever experienced, “anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that’s the bleeding in the stomach,” stressing that the issue is going to be her body healing ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌itself.

Siwa used pain medication to get through her Mall of America appearance that was already planned, but she mentioned that she still needs a follow‑up in a week. “Today, we are going to work, and we are going to dance again. I am scared how this dance is going to affect me because I am going to be dancing, but it is only going to be for an hour. We are going,” she stated, adding that she would stop and seek medical assistance if the pain came back. “We will keep it going, and if I throw up or if I have that terrible pain again, I have to go immediately back, but we should be alright,” she added.
Siwa also commended the doctors for their efficiency in getting her out of the hospital quickly — “within two hours from the hospital” — and she thanked the fans for their support. Siwa mentioned that she was “doing all right” but not yet ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌“100%.”
