Brenna Galvin, Deputy Director of Communications for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, said that the fitness influencer and bodybuilder, Hayley McNeff died from acute intoxication resulting from the combined use of heroin, fentanyl, 4-ANPP, cocaine, and norbuprenorphine. The cause of death was identified as an accidental one.
“Hayley was the warmth of the sun in this cold world,” her father Dave told PEOPLE. “She was full of energy and very strong in her will to achieve whatever she set her mind to. She decided on bodybuilding and fitness and went all the way to the top of that industry. She loved us and we love Hayley a lot, we miss her like ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌crazy.”

Hayley McNeff was a highly versatile athlete and she started her sports career at equestrian, diving, and skiing from which she made great achievements. She went to Concord-Carlisle High School and University of Massachusetts Amherst.
After that, McNeff took up bodybuilding and won state titles in Maryland and Delaware, and was the main subject of the 2005 documentary Raising the Bar, which tells the story of competitive bodybuilding. After some time, she left the sport to go for a psychology graduate degree.
Her obituary, published by Boston.com on August 12, refers to her as a person of “quick wit” and “she always had a sense of ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌humor.”

The obituary of the lady spoke of her as one who “had the talent of causing to laugh and feel welcomed all those around her.” It emphasized her “vitality and perseverance” to be her lifelong “fixtures, as she ‘always managed to accomplish whatever she set out to do’.” McNeff was a great friend and always made sure her friendships were strong and lasting. The world loses a great person in her parents, siblings, extended family, and ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌friends.
