Elizabeth Olsen Attributes Keeping Her Feet on the Ground to Daily Journaling: “I Find It Very Useful”
Elizabeth Olsen Attributes Morning Journaling to Her Well-being
The 36‑year‑old shares that a daily journaling habit — writing about the day before, what she is reading, or work — keeps her calm
What is one of Elizabeth Olsen’s wellness rituals? One of her nonnegotiable morning habits of the 36‑year‑old actress‑producer is definitely journaling. Talking to PEOPLE at the premiere of her new movie Eternity (in theaters Nov. 26) in Los Angeles on Nov. 5, where she came with husband Robbie Arnett, Olsen said, “I write in my journal in the morning. Sometimes it is just what happened yesterday. Sometimes it is about what I am reading. Sometimes it is about work. It’s kind of everything.”

Elizabeth Olsen Attributes Morning Writing to Her Getting Less Anxious and Gaining More Creative Energy
By her own hand she has been writing every morning for three years — a ritual that quiets her, reveals new acting territories and exists in three different journals.
Elizabeth Olsen has been writing her thoughts in a journal every day for three years, which she considers to be “just a way to slow everything down.” “You slow down your thoughts, I think, when you start writing by hand,”. She says that the method frequently results in creative “discoveries” which can be applied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or Eternity projects. “It’s really helpful for work,” she said. “I’ve got three different journals. I have a work journal that’s separate for [creating] a character. And sometimes I have to translate what’s in a personal journal to my work journal.”
Olsen navigates life, death and love in David Freyne’s Eternity
Elizabeth Olsen plays Joan, torn between two husbands asking her to choose an eternal fate
In the movie Eternity, which is a romantic fantasy by director and co-writer David Freyne, Olsen is Joan. Joan is the kind of character who, metaphorically, stands at the crossroads in the afterlife. To wit, her first husband (Callum Turner), who died a long time ago, and her second husband (Miles Teller), whom she has obviously loved for a long, are both asking her to come with them to a one‑way trip to an eternity that she must choose.

Olsen: The Film Eternity “Brought Me Back” to What Matters Most
It helped her to look back at her past relationships and see how those old ties reflect the person we have become
“Making the film ‘brought me back,'” Olsen told PEOPLE, saying that the movie Eternity made her think about the relationships that last through time. “It made me think about the people in your life who maybe you haven’t seen for 15 years. If you happened to meet them, what would that make you bring out in yourself that makes you feel so far from the woman you’ve become?”
