Blake Shelton Disputes Divorce Speculation with Gwen Stefani
Blake Shelton has publicly criticized media sources for reporting that he and his wife Gwen Stefani have decided to separate.
According to Blake Shelton, the first reports sprang up in late October/early November, stating, “Blake and Gwen are done.”
Many reports gave the wrong impression that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were not physically present with each other and that they were already in the middle of a divorce process.
Blake Shelton pokes fun at the rumors of divorce and fake images
Blake Shelton recently joked about the cycle of divorce rumors that have been swirling around Gwen Stefani and him for years.
“A week later, there’s a picture of us leaving the grocery store—so now the headline says, ‘They’re Back Together!’” Shelton explained.
“Then a week later, we’re not in a grocery store, and the article says, ‘They’re Divorced!’” Shelton continued to poke fun at how celebrities are covered in the tabloids.
Besides the divorce rumors, Shelton discussed coming across fake photos of himself on the internet. At first, he believed them to be authentic because they appeared so realistic; however, he now states that he does not trust any images on the internet anymore.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Shut Down Split Rumors Amid Busy Year
Despite a very busy schedule this year, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have officially put an end to all the breakup rumors that arose after the song “Hangin’ On” was released. In March 2022, the two were rumored to be splitting, but Blake told Access Hollywood the song was not about the couple’s marriage at all. Many speculate that the rumors were made worse due to Blake’s absence from the CMA Awards on November 8 when his record “Pour Me A Drink” was nominated for Musical Event of the Year, and that the absence of both Blake and Gwen from the red carpet for almost 8 months, since the March 2022 Grand Ole Opry celebration, fuelled the split reports even more.
Gwen’s own posts of her kissing Blake on New Year’s Eve and other love-filled photos has also served to dismiss any breakup rumors. Blake and Gwen originally met when they were both coaches on The Voice and got married in July of 2021.
