Andre Braugher’s Cause of Death was revealed! Brooklyn Nine Star Death Shock!

On Monday, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star died at the age of 61. His representative said at the time that the actor had passed away as a result of a recent illness; however, they have now informed PEOPLE that the cause of death for Braugher was lung cancer. It is not known when Braugher was evaluated and given a diagnosis of the condition.

A well-respected American actor and producer, Andre Braugher was born on July 1, 1962, in the city of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. Even though he had a wonderful career that lasted for more than four decades, he regrettably died on December 11, 2023, at the age of 61, after a brief bout with sickness.

For his career, Braugher was honored with two Emmys and left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry with his unforgettable performances. The television program “Homicide: Life on the Street” offered him the role of Detective Frank Pembleton from 1993 to 1999, and he gained acclaim for his work at that time. In addition, he demonstrated his flexibility by playing the role of Owen Thoreau Jr. in the comedy-drama series “Men of a Certain Age,” which aired from 2009 to 2011. In addition to that, he provided the voice for the character of Woodchuck Woodchuck-Berkowitz in the animated series “Bojack Horseman.”

Through his performance as Nick Atwater in Thief, he was awarded two Emmys. The first Emmy was awarded to him in 1998 for his part as Detective Frank Pemberton in the television series Homicide. His performance as Captain Raymond Holt in the television show Brooklyn Nine-Nine earned him four nominations for an Emmy Award.

The year 1989 marked the beginning of Braugher’s career as an actor. He made his debut next to Denzel Washington in the film Glory and collaborated with Telly Savalas on the film Kojak. He has also been in the television shows City of Angels, Salt, Law & Order, Salem’s Lot, and the forthcoming series The Residence, which will be available on Netflix. Additionally, he was honored with the Obie Awards for his work in theater versions of Henry V and The Whipping Man among other plays.

After hearing the news of Braugher’s passing, his co-stars started paying respect to the work that he had done.

His co-star from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Terry Crews, opened a touching Instagram post by saying, “Can’t believe you’re gone so soon.” It was a poignant message.

Crews, who is 55 years old, continued by saying, “It is an honor to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you, and shared eight glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent.”
