The Fear Of Water: Ranvir Singh On The Box Has Overcome
The news presenter, Ranvir Singh, mainly known for her interviews with politicians and her role on Good Morning Britain, will have her audience discover a different side of her through the new ITV celebrity game show The Box:
Ranvir, the 49-year-old presenter, said the show really got her out of her comfort zone, and it became a totally different new chapter for her, especially the part wherein she overcame a long-time fear of water.
During the launch of ITV’s show, Ranvir described the show as being very different from her daily news work. But she said the experience she had was one she would never trade.
She also admitted that it was overcoming her fear of water that brought her closer to her 14-year-old son, Tushaan, who is a water lover and who had constantly encouraged her to be a water lover too.
Ranvir said that after filming the show The Box, she went for the first time to a family getaway to a water area, and it was the moment she finally decided to plunge and be the water lover.

Ranvir shared during the show that conquering her fear of water allowed her to snorkel with her son, which was a dream come true for the star; she was thrilled to the point of tears. Singh further mentioned that the fear was not even diminished by wearing a life jacket, which turned the entire incident into something quite unique.
“It was amazing. That was his moment,” Ranvir said, noting he saw her conquer the fear through his own eyes.
She admitted her life has changed significantly since her experience with water, and the presenter said it has “opened up new avenues” that leave her extremely proud.
It is with Ranjeet Singh Dehal, her ex-husband, with whom she shares Tushaan; however, lately she has been dating Louis Church, almost 18 years younger.
They met during a backstage event during her time on Strictly Come Dancing.
Talking about her The Box performance, apart from other things, Ranvir also shared that she hopes her Good Morning Britain co-hosts like Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley will surprise themselves.
Ranvir further mentioned that usually a journalist is one of the people who will have answers or, least of all, be aware of where to get the answers. So, for a job on a TV entertainment show without the briefings, it was “very confusing.”
Ranvir Opens Up About The Box Experience
Ranvir Singh described The Box as an amazing experience that gave her the chance to bond with fellow celebrities. “We just really got to know each other,” she said, calling it a lovely experience. “We just really got to know each other,” Ranvir said, describing the experience as a lovely one. On “The Box,” Ranvir joined nine other celebrities locked inside the yellow chambers and then transported randomly to new venues, where they would be confronted with various physical, mental, and logical challenges. Ranvir said that her physical abilities or competitiveness were probably not her strength and that she was not considered a top threat to others; thus, she chose to have fun throughout the program.
Every week’s episode closes with a contest between the two best players where “The Duel,” the elimination showdown, is held. BBC veteran Gary Lineker said that the idea of doing something so different from his career in television was what drew him to the project. Following an outcry over him making insensitive content on a social media platform and then later being sorry for that, he moved from the BBC to ITV, where he is now a member of staff.
