Nick Lachey Shares Details of Surprise Meeting with his Ex-Wife Jessica Simpson After 20 Years

Nick Lachey recently spoke about the unexpected incident when he ran into his ex-wife Jessica Simpson almost 20 years after their divorce.

While on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the singer confirmed that they might have met during a flight to Hawaii. Host Andy Cohen asked if the meeting was true, and Lachey confessed it was and even called the experience “strangely okay.”

“You know it has been 20 years since… so we haven’t seen each other in those 20 years and then we ended up six and a half hours on a flight to Hawaii together, ” Lachey said, after which he added that by “spent” he only meant they were “same vicinity” during the flight.

Nick Lachey Says Reunion With Jessica Simpson Was “Amicable and Cordial”

Nick Lachey has revealed additional info about the surprise meeting of his ex-wife Jessica Simpson on a recent flight to Hawaii. According to him, the situation was very respectful.

“All of us were very, very polite, very respectful, ” Lachey stated, mentioning that his family was on board too. He explained that he thinks Simpson was sitting next to her mom while her husband, whom she has separated from, Eric Johnson, and their kids were in another part of the plane. “Honestly, it was okay, ” he remarked. PEOPLE in April already brought up the reunion with a source pointing out that ex-spouses even exchanged a few friendly words on their flight from LA to Hawaii. “They all talked nicely. Nick, Jessica, and [Nick’s wife] Vanessa, ” the insider said. “It was very amicable and cordial.”

Simpson, 45, and Lachey, 52, who were married from 2002 to 2006, are known for starring together on the reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica before they divorced.

Nick and Jessica have both moved on after their divorce.

Besides living separate lives, both Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson have managed to raise their families with new partners.

In 2011 Lachey and Vanessa tied the knot, and now the two of them are happy parents to three children: two boys, Camden, 13, and Phoenix, 9, and a girl, Brooklyn, 11.

On the other side, Simpson revealed last month the end of her marriage to the ex-footballer Eric Johnson whom she was married to for ten years. They together have two daughters Maxwell, 13, and Birdie, 7, while their son Ace is 12 years old.
