Ed Sheeran Breaks Down Over Family Abandonment
Ed Sheeran commented on losing family and best friends following the uproar he was a part of in connection with Macklemore being banned from the Loop Tour for his pro-Palestine stance.
A really shaken-up and heartbroken artist eventually shed tears and sat with his legs crossed on stage at a moment during his show at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Saturday night, thinking back on that week when all his supporting artists—his own supporting band—quit the show in support of Macklemore. “In these situations, you really find out who your friends and family are , It’s been a weird week,” Ed Sheeran told the crowd in a video captured by a fan.

But the “Thinking Out Loud” singer said that he was doing it for his fans. “The only way I can look back and think that I did the right thing is to see that there are still 50,000 loyal people who haven’t turned their back on me,” he explained. “No matter what others are saying, I’m doing this for you. You really are my reason.
He referred to the concert as being the highlight of his life, yet the weekend before, it was like one of the worst he had ever had. When he was worried whether the crowd really came out to see him and if anyone would boo him, he was overcome with emotion as he saw the love being shown on stage.
“The world is dangerous and scary at present, and so is America,” he remarked before gesturing towards the audience. “But you can get inspired by that.”

In addition, Sheeran, at age thirty-five, took very protective steps prior to the concert because he was really scared that if people came on stage, they might throw things at him. “At this point, to be frank, I would rather go out to the B stage,” he said.
“It is a bit of a disappointment to everyone involved that today’s event is not the same as the usual Loop show,” he added. “I had to remove the B stage because of my fears of what I might experience if I were up there on the main stage. And I was wrong to be frightened, of course.”
As the Grammy Award winner was yet to mention the names of the people he had been disassociated from, his cousin Jethro Sheeran took on Sheeran publicly on the web.

“Wow, at last the truth is being shared publicly! I’m so embarrassed of what my cousin Ed has done. After all this time, the world and his fans have finally realized what a fake he is. “He isn’t a good soul; I just don’t like his music, so I can’t even say that he is a good performer,” Jethro shared on Instagram.
Additionally, “He is indeed a heartless and manipulative person with evil intentions. I am his first blood cousin, and he betrayed me and even mocked my mental health and the overall concept of mental health.”
Although Macklemore before stated that Ed had been coerced by stadium owners to get rid of him from his tour, Jethro still thinks Ed alone made that decision, describing his cousin as a shady and cowardly person: “To me he is just a terrible person. And just my opinion based on me being a cousin to him too,” he added.

In the meantime, Macklemore, 43, has given all his money earned from the Loop tour before signing off, a total of $1 million, to the Palestinian relief cause. He appealed to Robert Kraft, the billionaire who owns the New England Patriots and Kraft Group, to match his contribution.
Kraft owns Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and was one of the stadium owners who stopped the rapper “Thrift Shop” from staging his concert because he had made a speech about “Free Palestine” after which he refused to let the rapper be in the event. After that, when he found out that Sheeran was the one who had requested, he decided to donate $2 million.
Regarding the large sum he had donated, Kraft, 85, emphasized that he had dedicated his life to promoting people coming together in society without any barriers and that he is of the view that “all lives are worth protecting.”
Sheeran is scheduled to perform two concerts at Kraft’s Gillette Stadium on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26.
