Ariana DeBose Tony Awards Entourage: Sings and Dances for During Tony Awards 2024 Kick-off!

Ariana DeBose has previously hosted the Broadway Awards presentation in 2022 and 2023, making this her third consecutive year. When it comes to Ariana DeBose’s hosting of the Tony Awards, it seems that the third time is indeed the charm! The winner of the Academy Award kicked off the 2024 season with a bang on Sunday, June 16, at the David H. Koch Theater in New York City, which is located inside the Lincoln Center. A high-energy routine was choreographed by DeBose, who is 33 years old, in collaboration with Julius Anthony Rubio. The number began with dancers carrying a newspaper that announced on the main page that she was hosting for the third time.

The words of the high-energy dance paid tribute to those who worked in the theater and the art that served as a source of inspiration for them. DeBose, who was dressed in dazzling gold attire, and a group of performers came together to sing, “This party’s for you!” After the routine, the actress from West Side Story performed a reverse tumble off of a platform. While DeBose was stepping out to offer an uplifting opening speech, she announced with a grin that she was wearing a “vintage Bob Mackie.”

“Truth is told on stage every night — and twice on matinee days,” she said with a laugh. We are all able to feel secure at the theater together. Also, even in the most difficult of circumstances, art is an absolute need mostly because art is a reflection of society and offers a framework for the very real issues that we find ourselves in today.

The ceremony that will take place that evening, as well as all of the musical production pieces that will be performed, will be “live, right in front of you,” and there will be no virtual reality glasses required since it is not something that is done here.

When it was reported in March that DeBose would be awarded the post of emcee for Broadway’s most prestigious awards ceremony for the third year in a row, she was overjoyed to accept the invitation.
