Jax Taylor Fires Back After Brittany Cartwright Claims He Threatened Her
Jax Taylor is finally speaking out. He stars in Vanderpump Rules, and the rest of the cast finally had to hear from him when Brittany Cartwright, the ex-wife he was married to for 5 years, filed for a temporary restraining order. E! News obtained the documents, which indicate that Brittany was seeking a restraining order on the ground that Jax had threatened to “gut” her “like a fucken (sic) fish” not once but several times.
On August 28, Jax posted a video on E! News stating, “I hurt you many times, and I totally messed up back then. In fact, those are the acts that I even regret and I still am ashamed of. I am owning up to them fully.”
“It was 2024 when I was going through the downtime of my life, and that was also the time when I was deeply addicted,” he stated. “And now that I am sober for 1 year and 9 months, not only did I keep going back to treatment, but I also have been in therapy all along, and I have continued to improve myself and really change my life.”
Opening up about the state of his mind about the whole thing, the 47-year-old expressed, “I totally refute the accusations you guys make against me. It will only be in court, where the whole story, context, and evidence will be laid out.
Jax Comments on Sobriety. Fatherhood After Brittany’s Restraining Order Filing
“I will abide by the court’s decisions and the proceedings of the law,” concluded Jax, who is currently dating his and Brittany’s ex-publicist, Lori Krebs. “My attention is still centered on my sobriety, making progress with my mental health, doing my best as a father to Cruz, and taking a healthier and more responsible path in life.”
Breastfeeding mother Brittany, 37, stated in an affidavit dated Aug. 27, requesting a protection order, that Jax has “been engaged in a practice of coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting, and even physical abuse towards me.” In her application, Brittany alleged that Jax had threatened to “gut me like a fish,” threatened to murder her, had “physically assaulted me,” and had “tossed furniture about,” which she claimed resulted in “my private injuries.”
Continuing with her court papers, Britt described that “for the entire duration of our relationship, Respondent (i.e., ex-husband) has constantly, without any warning or reason whatsoever, been verbally abusing the applicant, calling her names, and threatening to ‘gut me like a fish,’ which is very close to murder, not just physically abusing her but also destroying property. As a consequence, I have sustained injuries due to the physical aggression from furniture.”

The Valley Star also said that Jax has broken “at least three of my iPhones, one iPad, and damaged property at our home; tried to break in; stalked me; accessed my iPhone and messages and even my Instagram account without my consent; deleted messages on my phone without my consent; and removed my jewelry from the home without my consent and has refused to return them to me.”
The last time Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor went on a spree, Brittany Cartwright mentioned that it was on Aug. 21 and that Jax had made a threat that he would call the police on her because a child safety fence around the pool was not to her liking.
The paperwork shows that Jax should avoid Brittany at a range of 100 yards away, which is the condition till their upcoming court case on Sept. 17. It is on that day that the judge will examine if Brittany’s request will be granted for sole custody. Before that, this custody arrangement was denied and is pending.
