Taylor Swift showed up in California at Selena Gomez’s wedding, but her identity was kept a secret by umbrellas
Taylor Swift Arrives for Selena Gomez’s Wedding
Taylor Swift was less than conspicuous as she landed in Santa Barbara, California to attend the wedding of her best friend, Selena Gomez, to Benny Blanco. To protect herself from potential prying eyes, she hid behind umbrellas as she got off a private plane at the airport on Friday afternoon.
Wearing what appeared to be a black t-shirt, the “Blank Space” singer was largely obscured from view by security personnel who were holding a bunch of black umbrellas over her head, only her arm could be seen in the pictures. It looks like they were bringing a wedding gift for the newlyweds, a passerby with luggage and a white box walked up to Taylor before she got into the waiting black SUV.

Low-Profile Plans and Wedding Details
Page Six tried to get a comment from a representative of Taylor Swift, but there has been no response so far.
An informant says to Page Six that Ms. Swift, aged 35, is still in a house that she rented just for the weekend celebration kind of a security move despite the fact that there were some reports that guests would be staying at the Encanto hotel. “In fact, she will renting out a house close to the place of the wedding, which is a secret to the public,” the source went on to say. “Her security team is of the opinion that it is better than a hotel.”
According to sources, Selena Gomez, 33, and Benny Blanco, 37, will get married on Saturday at a private estate in Santa Barbara, where they will be celebrating their love for two days.
Tight Security and Plus-One Mystery
“They will not know the place of the event before hand, so all the guests will be picked up and driven to the location,” a source told The Sun earlier this month. “Despite the fact that no one knows the place, the excitement is kind of high for a great time.”
I suppose it will be really interesting to see if she will take Travis with her or not. Playing against the Baltimore Ravens in Missouri on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end told us that it was going to be a Ravens game. In December 2024, 33-year-old Selena Gomez announced to the world via her social media that she was engaged to 37-year-old Abel Blanco by posting a picture that presumed the upcoming wedding. Then Swift answered with an amusing retort: “Yes, I will surely be the flower girl.”

Besties Celebrate Each Other’s Milestones
In August, Selena Gomez showed that she is not only a fan but also a friend when she gave Taylor Swift a loving shout-out of her own. On her Instagram Stories, she wrote: “When besties gets engaged” after sharing a post by Swift.
Additionally, Gomez brought back for the fans a 2009 text that Swift had sent her, posting it next to pictures of their respective engagement announcements — the two having come a long way with each other.

A Full-Circle Friendship
“Genuine love still comes about once in a while. It is not just something we pretend when we are nine. I must believe it. You must too,” Taylor Swift said on Twitter 16 years ago – a statement Selena Gomez recently brought back to light as the two friends kept on celebrating their engagements.
The pair have been inseparable since the late 2000s, the period when Gomez was dating Nick Jonas and Swift was dating his brother Joe Jonas.
Swift’s rainy arrival with an umbrella to Gomez’s wedding of the year is very much like her recent undercover visit at Travis Kelce’s Chiefs vs. Eagles game on Sept. 15, where she quietly came in behind a large screen to stay out of sight.
