Selena Gomez Talks About Continued Speculation Regarding Her Speaking Manner: ‘Sometimes Things Just Happen’
Selena Gomez Shares Her Experience of Voice Change
Selena Gomez, 33, during an Instagram Live on Dec. 16, which was later reposted on X, talked openly about how her voice has changed.
When asked by a fan about the changes in her voice over the years, the “Single Soon” artist answered, “Yeah, I have been asked this question a few times. The voice thing. So, sometimes when I’m on — forget it. I’ve got no excuse. I really don’t care.”
She concluded, “I think my point is that occasionally, things just happen. I kind of get weird. Sometimes my throat just swells inside. That’s all.”

Selena Gomez on Health Issues and Creating Diverse Beauty Line
Selena Gomez has been very candid about her health conditions since the announcement of her lupus and mental health disorder diagnoses. During a September episode of Good Hang with Amy Poehler, she talked about how lupus-related arthritis has limited her, such as when she struggled to open a water bottle.
“I have arthritis in my fingers, and that’s because of lupus,” Selena let out. “So, I vividly remember the time before the brand when I was opening a water bottle and it hurt so much that I couldn’t do it properly without the right medication.”
Moreover, her journey has motivated her to reflect this in the make-up of Rare Beauty products. “We unconsciously had the products that are a breeze to open, and then we figured out, wait they have to be that way. And then we began to create each product with the thought that [among] the ones who [have] dexterity issues are also [able to] use them.”
Selena Gomez opens the book on melasma and her skin care routine
While roping in some fun for the fans, Selena Gomez answered a question on Instagram Stories about her skin tone. Off the grid and raw, she said someone had asked, “How do you shave your mustache?”
Gomez initially denies the idea of a shadow emulating the end of the day. “That’s actually my melasma,” she revealed. “I do skin treatment and take care of it, but yeah, the spot is always there.”
In addition, she put significant stress on the impact of sun exposure in the disease and indirectly gave a gentle reminder to her followers about using sunscreen. “I totally get it. It’s from the sun,” she said.

Selena Gomez on Acne, Skincare, and Self-Care
Selena Gomez has opened up about her acne issues as well. She said in a Vogue Beauty Secrets episode, “I’ve noticed that when I get stressed, I break out more or if I get lazy with my routine, so I guess it’s kind of like my breaking out routine. I just deal with whatever I have.”
She said skincare is more than just looking good. “You are not only taking care of your skin when you do skincare, you are also taking care of your body, your mind, and your soul because I think it’s all one thing,” Gomez said. Also, she stated that sunscreen has always been a very important part of her skincare routine, especially since she was diagnosed with lupus.
