Jackson‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Browne’s Son, Ethan Browne, Committed to Eternity; Family Requests Privacy

On‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ the day of Nov. 25, 2025, Jackson Browne informed people through his global announcement that his son Ethan Browne was discovered at home unresponsive and has died. He begged the people to allow them the privacy they needed and to let the family have their time and space for mourning. Jackson’s representative, however, was indifferent to our request and didn’t offer a readily available response to Page Six’s request for ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌comment. Ethan was the son of Browne and Phyllis Major, who gave birth to him in 1973; the couple got married in 1975 but after Major took her life in 1976 at the age of 30, their marriage was ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌over.

After‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Phyllis Major’s Death, Jackson Browne Made Ethan His “Main Focus”

In a 2021 interview with Route Magazine, Jackson Browne revealed that after Phyllis Major’s suicide he decided to father his son in the best way possible, thus making Ethan his “main focus.” Brown shared that he had only two ambitions in his life which were to be a songwriter and a father and if at any point he had to make a choice between these two roles, he would still be able to commit fully to being a parent: “If I have to only be a father, I hope I’ll know it, and just do that.”
Ethan followed the path of a career in the entertainment industry as he became an actor and a model. Together with his dad, he was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone in 1974 when he was only six months ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌old.

Ethan‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Browne Was in Movies Like Hackers, Raising Helen, a Birds of Prey Episode — and Dripped for Designers

In‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ the 1995 movie Hackers, Ethan Browne was the on-screen buddy of the character played by Angelina Jolie and subsequently, in the 2004 film Raising Helen by Kate Hudson, he had a minor role. Furthermore, in 2002, he was featured in a brief role in an episode of the WB series Birds of ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Prey.
Besides the nice-looking thing, Browne was a model and became the face of the campaigns for the designers like Isaac Mizrahi which is a point that producer Mark Ronson made in his memoir Night ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌People.
