Derek Hough Admits He Has Been Totally “Absorbed” By The Pregnancy Emotions Of Hayley Erbert
Derek Hough says he has been going through the emotional ups and downs of his wife Hayley Erbert’s pregnancy with him and not always in a very dignified way.
The 40 year old Dancing With the Stars judge told E! News that he has found himself “losing it” and crying sometimes, while Hayley, 31, has been very calm and collected. “She has been the Zen Buddha, just at peace. She’s been incredible,” he said.
After calling his wife a “badass” Derek went on to say that watching Hayley get ready for motherhood has been “really amazing” – he was full of admiration for her power and said he had seen her even now becoming an “incredible mother” without their first child being there.”
Derek Hough Is Gathering Information — He’s Getting Education From Doulas and Midwives
Derek Hough shares that he has been very much a part of the process and that he is taking classes with doulas and midwives to familiarize himself with pregnancy and getting the necessary tools for childbirth. “Just all these different things and all these tools to really understand this birth,” he explained to E! News, indicating that the birth would be “very intimate” and a little off the beaten track — hence, he wants to make sure that he knows what to do.
Derek Hough Gets Ready to be a Dad — “I’ve Absorbed All of Hayley’s Pregnancy Emotions”
Dancing With the Stars judge, Derek Hough, told E! News, “I’m freaking out or I’m emotional or I’m crying,” adding that Hayley has been “the Zen Buddha, just at peace.”
He also decided to play a very active role in the whole thing, going to classes with doulas and midwives to get acquainted with the tools for what he called “very intimate” and a little bit different birth. “I need to know I’m doing the right thing,” he said.
Derek, the one to naturally guide others, believes that this trait will help him be a good parent. “I’m the best version of myself when I’m helping someone or just being there,” he said, getting emotional, while he pictured himself leading and loving their kid right from day one. “It will be incredible… and I’m really excited for what it’s going to be and mean for me.”
Derek Hough Looks Forward to Becoming a Father While Getting Ready for His Tour
It is a fact that Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert are enjoying this moment to the fullest as they are preparing a nursery and at the same time they are rehearsing for Derek Hough Symphony of Dance: Encore, a tour of 40 cities in the U.S. which will start in June. The pace can be so sudden, Derek confesses: “It has been such a hectic time… sometimes I forget and then suddenly I get reminded. I say to myself, ‘Oh my God!’” However, he is figuring out how to decelerate and retain faith in the sequence. “One of the best pieces of advice that I have received is to trust your instincts,” he affirmed. “It is going to be very soon, isn’t it?”
