Vontae Davis, a former cornerback in the National Football League who played for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills, passed away on Monday, according to their respective clubs, who confirmed the news. His age was 35, and he was just two months away from becoming 36 years old. New 911 calls that were made public on Wednesday shed light on the events that transpired shortly after the body of former Miami Dolphin Vontae Davis was discovered inside a home located in Southwest Ranches earlier this week.

During the conversations, a lady who was on her way to the residence can be heard having a conversation with the operator of the 911 system. She states that another woman had discovered the former NFL player unresponsive. “She became completely still. However, she was unable to even talk when she phoned me. The caller explains to the operator that this is the reason they phoned.

She continued by stating that the woman who located Davis initiated a FaceTime conversation. According to the caller, “She showed me him lying on the ground,” she said. The person who called also said that there were some firearms in the house. The caller said that she had seen Davis the previous Friday, but that his driver was with him on Saturday. This was in response to the question of when she had recently seen Davis. After some time, a 911 operator was able to get in touch with the lady who had located Davis. She said that she had first been unable to locate him within the estate.

“When I arrived at the residence, I was simply going about my normal routine tasks. Following that, I was unable to locate the individual, so I began to go throughout the home,” she said. After that, the lady reveals to the operator that she passed through the gym area before she came across Davis.

Because she did not own a defibrillator, the operator requested that the lady locate one. After that, the operator reported that the paramedics came and took control of the situation.

Police probing the murder of former NFL player Vontae Davis have released a tape of his assistant’s phone call to 911 after he was discovered dead on Monday. The body of the deceased individual was discovered by his assistant at a residence located in Southwest Ranches, a suburban town located in the Miami metropolitan region. Officers responded to the scene.

Davis, a cornerback who had previously played for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills and who announced his retirement in 2018, participated in 121 games throughout his career. Not only did he sign a one-year deal with the Bills in 2018, but he also retired in the middle of a game in September, which caused him to become a topic of conversation.

His death occurred while he was just 35 years old, and as a result, some doubts have been raised concerning the circumstances surrounding his death.

“Davie Police officers responded to a medical complaint at 6051 SW 178th Avenue this morning. After discovering the dead homeowner, the house helper summoned the police to the household and informed them of the situation.

We are able to verify that the person who passed away was Vontae Davis, who was 35 years old. The first evidence reveals that there is no evidence of any kind of criminal activity. There has been no change in the probe.

Many people, including investigators, were seen visiting the property that belonged to his grandmother on Tuesday. These individuals included cleaning teams, repair crews, and security personnel.

Because their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing is still ongoing, the police have said that they are not considering his death as a reason for suspicion. As of right now, there is no information available on how he went away.

911 Call Reveals How Davis Was Found 

Davis’ personal assistant reportedly dialed 911 after a different woman discovered him unresponsive in the exercise area of the residence, according to local law enforcement and WPLG.

During the call to 911, the assistant said, “She arrived, and he is on the ground of the residence.” “She became completely still. When he phoned me, she didn’t even try to communicate, which is why I decided to contact him.

Who was Vontae Davis? 

Vontae Ottis Davis was an American professional football player who played cornerback for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). Davis was born on May 27, 1988, and passed away on April 1, 2024. He was taken by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft after playing college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini. He was in the first round of the draft. In his career, he was selected for two Pro Bowls.

Davis announced his retirement from the National Football League (NFL) amid the Bills’ second game of the 2018 season. He came out of the game at halftime to make his announcement.

Vontae Davis’s Early Life 

Davis ran track and played football at Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C. He used to play football as a cornerback and wide receiver. During his senior season, he had 38 tackles and eight interceptions and received several trophies and distinctions, including Washington Post first-team All-Metro, PrepStar All-American, DCIAA West first-team All-Conference, and D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year.

Davis was regarded as one of the district’s best sprinters. In 2006, as a senior, he set personal bests of 10.97 seconds in the 100-meter sprint and 22.78 seconds in the 200-meter dash at the DCIAA East/West Championships, winning both events. Davis is a three-star recruit and the No. 33 cornerback prospect in the country.

Vontae Davis Professional Career 

Davis participated in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, and completed all of the combine and positional workouts. On March 18, 2009, Davis attended Illinois’ pro day and chose to participate in the bulk of the combined workouts. He improved his marks in the 40-yard sprint (4.40 seconds), 20-yard dash (2.52 seconds), and 10-yard dash (1.48 seconds), while also increasing the height of his vertical leap (37.5 inches). At the end of the pre-draft process, NFL draft analysts and scouts predicted Davis would be drafted in the first or second round. DraftScout.com graded him as the draft’s third-best cornerback prospect.
