The real story behind Tess and Vernon’s split night and their emotional toast that finally made the relationship official
Vernon Kay and Tess Daly Celebrate Their Breakup with Champagne
Vernon Kay and Tess Daly have reportedly decided to end their marriage together and popped champagne to celebrate the moment, says The Mirror.
The couple got engaged to “carry on being classy” during their split and were even sitting next to each other when they hit publish on their joint statement.
On an emotional Friday at their family home where they are still cohabiting, the couple drank champagne and “celebrated the new chapter that lies ahead”.
It was revealed by a source close to them: “After the statement had been made public, Vernon and Tess paused to raise a toast to each other and their futures.”

Their Gradual Disconnect: Parting on Good Terms
Their entire energy is directed towards giving the best to each other and their family. Honestly, there hasn’t been any major fight; usually, it’s a slow process of drifting apart and wanting different things. They’ve pledged to stay friends and to act with class both during their separation and in any future interviews.”
Despite the sad news, the two reportedly still have good psychological states, and they are both focusing their attention on their daughters and their separate careers. The family still resides together in their six-bedroom house in Buckinghamshire. Eventually, Vernon will probably be the one to move out since he’ll need a London base or somewhere nearby as he hosts his BBC Radio 2 show.
Besides, sources referred to the two co-hosting *The One Show* in late February as an indication that they still get along well. Neither of them exhibited any sign of stress or uneasiness throughout the broadcast. On Instagram, Tess shared a photo of the two of them in front of the TV studios with the caption: “TV Centre, the place where it all began. It’s always such a lovely walk down memory lane.”
Final Family Holiday Before Amicable Split Announcement
Additionally, they spent some time as a family in the Caribbean not even 2 weeks before the announcement of their breakup. Through this gesture of unity, the two still confirmed over the weekend that their marriage was over.
Sharing a joint statement on their Instagram Stories, Tess and Vernon—parents to daughters Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16—wrote: “After much deliberation, and a deep commitment to each other’s well-being and respect, we have decided to go our separate ways amicably. The decision has been quite difficult, but it is based on the mutual understanding and the shared desire for the best of each of us. We are still very good friends and, most importantly, totally devoted to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our main concern.
“No other persons are involved in this decision. We ask for privacy during this time as we go through this transition together. We shall not be making any further public statements.”
