Neil Sedaka the singer-songwriter has passed away at the age of 86, TMZ reports.
The website got the news that Sedaka started to feel sick on Friday morning and was hospitalised by ambulance. In a statement, his family told TMZ that they were deeply saddened by the loss of their father, husband and grandfather, Neil Sedaka, saying: ‘Our family is destroyed by the sudden loss of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Neil Sedaka. A true rock and roll legend, a source of inspiration to millions, but above all, at least to those of us who were fortunate enough to know him, an amazing person who will be greatly missed.’

Additional information has surfaced about the death of Neil Sedaka, a singer-songwriter, who was 86 years old.
Per TMZ, the L.A. County West Hollywood sheriff’s station stated that deputies helped the fire department with a medical assistance call earlier today, and paramedics took Sedaka to a nearby hospital at approximately 8 a.m.
Sedaka became a household name after he scored a string of No. 1 hits in the early 1960s, like “Oh! Carol,” “Calendar Girl,” and “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do.” He then had another successful period in the mid-1970s with hits such as “Laughter in the Rain” and “Bad Blood.” Moreover, he was one of the founding members of the Tokens during the late 1950s.
He Was Fondly Remembered As A Music Legend And A Great Influence
Neil Sedaka, who died recently at age 86, was an accomplished musician who had been nominated for a Grammy five times. He was honored with induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983, and he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well.
Over the years, Sedaka appeared on TV shows many times, like when he was a guest on The King of Queens and The Carol Burnett Show. Also, he was one of the guest judges on the second season of American Idol, and he was quite impressed with Clay Aiken’s version of his song “Solitaire.”
Sedaka’s death leaves behind his wife, Leba Strassberg, their two children, and the musical legacy that he was 86 years old.
