Nathan Criticizes Timothée’s “Stupidity and Insensitivity”
Nathan Lane expressed his disapproval quite straightforwardly when he talked about Timothée Chalamet’s recent statements regarding opera and ballet.
On The View, Lane said, “In a way, it was kaleidoscopically foolish and insensitive, yet at the same time, very revealing about the state of our country.”
He added, “Well, no one wants to give this more spotlight than it really deserves. And yet… It was kind of kaleidoscopic in its stupidity and insensitivity and yet strangely revealing about the state of our country. Here’s the thing, let me give you the comedy part of our show first. One should bear in mind that people will be attending Swan Lake and La Traviata performances long after a guy at a dinner party asks, ‘Who was Timothée Chalamet?’ It is the show business circle of life.”
Nathan Lane Questions Town Hall with Timothée Chalamet and Matthew McConaughey
Nathan Lane didn’t simply question the point of the town hall meeting with Chalamet and McConaughey; he pointed out several other things as well.“The bigger question is: Why was there a town hall meeting with Matthew McConaughey and Timothée Chalamet? I mean, who decided that this meeting of the minds was necessary? … Why isn’t there a town hall meeting with Democrats talking about ways to get that madman out of the White House? Then I remembered, ‘Oh, he is still doing that ping pong movie thing.’ And, by the way, here is the thing for Timmy: If you think no one cares about opera and ballet, I have to tell you that we care even less about ping pong.”
Lane continued, “He was paired up with Matthew McConaughey, so I’m guessing they might have had some weed. It might just be the case of two terribly unfunny people trying to be funny, which always ends in disaster.”
A number of celebrities have spoken out against Timothée Chalamet over his recent controversial remarks.
