Lisa Snowdon Says She’s Entering a ‘New Chapter’ at 54
Lisa Snowdon has said that she is actually in a ‘whole new phase of her life’ at 54 after news emerged that she split up with her fiancé, George Smart. The TV personality, 54, said at that time that there is no rush for them to get married; the businessman was going to be her 12-year partner. Last time the two of them were seen together was on Lisa’s Instagram in January, when she posted pictures of a trip to New York the previous month. In an exclusive to Prima, Lisa has said, “I am 54 now, and I look at this period of my life as a different chapter altogether. It’s a matter of changing the perspective on aging in a more favorable way.”

She also said that the menopause experience has triggered her drinking to rage. Lisa said that after some drinks, she would become so angry that all of a sudden she felt like ‘the devil’ and couldn’t even guess why.
She told Lisa that all she wanted were some quiet nights because she felt sleepy and exhausted, as if her whole energy were taken away, and she found it very hard to sleep. Nowadays, the only time she drinks alcohol is when the occasion really calls for it, and she has not stopped trying to find that ideal balance of everything. Menopause-related stress was at such a level that, according to her own testimonial, it brought anxiety to her everyday life and made work so difficult for her. She further said that in that state she completely lost her self-confidence and had constant panic attacks, during which such thoughts as “I can’t work anymore” came to her. Her thoughts were so negative that it was affecting her physical state as well.
‘I remember the moment I stood as an emcee in one of the rooms where there were about a thousand people who were all from different areas of the industry. I really panicked. I thought, How will this end? I was so stressed. That really took me away from the present; I forgot my identity! Later, there were jobs that I turned down but which I should have taken on, though now it is too late to get upset about them.’

Menopause marks the biological change of a woman when menstrual cycles cease permanently, and hormonal level fluctuations will take place, as well as infertility. It marks the end of a person’s fertile life. It is medically defined as having no menstrual periods for at least 12 months. This phase generally starts between ages 45 and 55 for most women.
