Jennifer Finch’s Brain Cancer Battle Ended Days After Diagnosis Reveal

Just under a week before she died, Finch’s loved ones made it official that she was dealing with “an aggressive form of brain cancer” after the news was revealed via her Instagram account. Besides that announcement, the platform was made available to a fundraising page with a GoFundMe, which will eventually be used to pay for medical bills. “After the diagnosis, there was hope that treatment would give her a path back to some version of a normal life,” said the July 13 social media post that showed a picture of Finch in a hospital bed.
“Unfortunately, complications have necessitated multiple operations and have resulted in a long line of setbacks.”

They continue: “Jennifer is currently physically confined and has no choice but the constant and thorough level of care which love, friendship, and determination alone cannot safely provide.”
Rolling Stone reports that, besides the brain tumor, Finch, who first started in L7 as a member in 1986, was previously diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2011. L7’s most recent lineup, the band that originally was around from 1985 until 2001 and came back together in 2014, consisted of members of the central team: leaders Donna Sparks and Szuzi Gardner together with Dee Plakas and Loretta.

After being diagnosed with the illness, the grunge band mentioned that Finch would not go with them for the American tour of the Last Hurrah Tour in October but added that their bandmate had advised them to proceed. “Even though Jennifer won’t be here for the U.S. part, she wants the show to go on. We will do it, but make sure she’s safe and comfortable.” L7 wrote in a statement, which is deleted now.

In any case, they would cherish the memory of their bassist.
“Jennifer was one of a kind and totally free in how she lived her life, and the influence she left in music and everyone close to her will never die,” said L7 in a statement to Rolling Stone. “The words don’t go nearly far enough in expressing our feelings for her. Nevertheless, we are with her and will be forever. May your friend find power, peace, and rest, dear.
