David Copperfield: Women Narrate Alleged Sexual Misconduct

Copperfield allegedly provided a teddy bear and his phone number to a minor named “Carla” on Valentine’s Day when she was 15 years old, according to the claims of one lady. It was when she was 16 years old that she received a message from him that stated, “In two years I will be back.” At the time, the note was sent to The Guardian.

Carla said that she was just 17 years old when Copperfield brought her inside his limousine and placed her head as close as possible to his crotch. In an interview with The Guardian, she said that she was “not forced” to engage in oral sex, but that she did feel “awkward” given that it was her first time.

She feels that she was groomed since Carla said that they had penetrative intercourse when she was 18 years old. Copperfield’s legal team refuted allegations that the magician actively pursued Carla and said that their relationship was mutually consenting.

“I was a young schoolgirl who was infatuated with a man who was famous, and I believe that he used that to his advantage,” she said in an interview with The Guardian.

Copperfield allegedly asked her and a companion backstage for a drink from the audience at one of his concerts in Las Vegas in the 1990s. This lady, who identified herself as “Gillian,” said that Copperfield made the invitation. After that, Gillian said that she was given a glass of sambuca, which caused her to have a “weird, physically weird” sensation.

Before she passed asleep, Gillian said that she had a “fuzzy” feeling. The memory of her waking up while Copperfield was having sexual relations with her was recalled by her.

I am 56 years old at this point,” she said to the publication. Throughout my whole life, I have never experienced a situation in which I do not recall [a certain period of time]… In the event that I did not really and honestly feel that I was under the influence of drugs at the time, I would never casually tell this to someone.

As part of the exposé, it was said that Copperfield reportedly sexually assaulted four ladies while they were performing live, and that he also had phone conversations with five adolescent girls and their families.

Copperfield’s legal representatives did not accept the allegations that he had been drugged and said that it was “untenable” that he would have grabbed a member of the crowd while he was performing.
