Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sells $55M Miami House Amid Sex-Trafficking Case

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sells Miami Mansion for $55M

Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has sold his Miami mansion that he had put up for sale in an unsuccessful bid to bail himself out of his sex trafficking case. The singer, 56, sold the luxury waterfront home for $55 million while he was behind bars.
When Diddy was arrested in September 2024, it was learned he was unable to find bail because of his Miami Beach mansion, where the couple lived.
It had been put up for a 50 million bond. Several judges agreed that the bail request was refused while officials opposed the idea. The Star Island mansion was at the fray of a high-profile legal battle.

The sale of Diddy’s Miami mansion came to a close after months of speculation. It happened in March 2024, when Homeland Security agents searched the mansion as part of their investigation into him.
Diddy’s Miami Beach mansion has been in the news again, as it recently sold for $55 million. The sale ended a difficult period for the singer, who has been in prison since his September 2024 arrest.

In his article, “The Real Deal,” he reports the house was sold without a market listing because the buyer was able to negotiate an $18.5 million mortgage with the San Diego-based Axos Bank.

The property is situated in lush Star Island, Miami Beach, and has a breathtaking view of Biscayne Bay. There is a very nice-looking swimming pool, a private water docking area, a separate little house for guests, a playground for adults and children—a basketball court—a massage area, very large outdoor spaces for hosting events, and a great view of the sky from Miami.
Combs made his purchase in January 2021 for the staggering amount of $35 million and, after that, invested a considerable amount to improve the place before getting ‍‌‍‍‌arrested.

He had almost paid off the $19 million mortgage before his arrest. At the same time, his lawyers said the payment was meant to give him money to pay for his bail, as the house had been used as collateral for his release.

Diddy’s Miami Mansion Was Central to Failed Bail Bid

The U.S. Federal Judge denied the bail petition for Combs in September 2024, finding that the defendant poses too great a flight risk to be set free before the trial starts.
As part of the deal, Combs offered his Star Island mansion as security for the return of the $50 million bail bond, including his mother’s Miami house, to raise the necessary $2 million to cover the remaining debt.
The defendant’s lawyers also suggested that he be allowed to resume his business activities but with several restrictions, including a ban on traveling anywhere outside of New York City and Miami; keeping his jet plane, which he has put up for sale, based in Los Angeles; and being subjected to electronic location monitoring.

As the court documents reveal, Combs had paid off the mortgage on the house in advance, weeks before his arrest.

“The home is completely unencumbered,” the document states. “As part of his preparation for this bail hearing, on August 20, 2024, Mr. Combs paid off the outstanding mortgage balance of approximately $18,000,000 on the home, thereby allowing the home to be placed in a court-designated bond and clear of any mortgage.”
Combs owns two adjacent Star Island homes in Miami. He bought the first one nearly 20 years ago, and the second one he purchased in 2021 from Gloria and Emilio Estefan.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Continues to Serve His Sentence as His Appeal Is Ongoing

Combs’ legal team has appealed the case against him because they believe that the judge sentenced their client unfairly, particularly considering the allegations against the counts of conviction for which he was found not guilty. They are seeking either an overturning of the verdicts or a resentence.
The three-judge panel of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard the case earlier this year and is currently considering whether the sentence was indeed excessive. Until then, Combs will continue to serve his sentence.
Meanwhile, Combs’ civil suits regarding the sexual assault allegations, among other accusations, are still pending. He has denied all of the allegations.
