Vivian, the daughter of Elon Musk, says that she is ‘financially independent’ from her father, who is a billionaire.’

Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk’s daughter with whom he has been estranged, revealed the details of her financial situation following her modeling career inception.
While speaking at Saturday’s Teen Vogue 2025 Summit, she said, “I am financially independent. I am currently making money. No pre-Teen Vogue [cover]. People tend to assume a lot and you just have to live with that.”

Career Dreams Beyond the Limelight

Wilson was featured in the March issue of Teen Vogue and during the interview she shared her career ambitions as well as the fact that she is still coming to terms with the fact that she is famous.
“I haven’t profited from my fame in the slightest,” she told the magazine. “The total amount of money I have made as a result of being famous is 0. However, I am sure that I am in quite a few people’s minds without having to pay rent.”
She confessed that modeling was really what she had wanted to do at first, but she had also thought about starting a Twitch channel. Besides that, she revealed her greatest dream: “I can’t think of anything that would make me happier than being involved in a reality TV show.”

Setting the Record Straight

At the beginning of this month, Wilson talked to The Cut about the misunderstandings which surround her financial situation. “People assume [I have] a lot of money,” she said, giving as an explanation that she decides to live with several roommates to save money.
I certainly do not have a few hundred thousand dollars just lying around for me to use. My mother is wealthy, isn’t she? But, of course, the other one is insanely wealthy,” she went on, pointing to her father.
Wilson updated that she doesn’t want to be “super-rich” like Musk but admits that she is “far more privileged than most people of [her] age in LA.”

Making Her Runway and Drag Debut

Wilson, who is transgender, made her runway debut in May at a RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10 event in New York City. Video leaked by Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea showed her throwing her hair and grooving to the crowd’s applause.
Next month, it was announced that she was going to be a part of Pattie Gonia’s Save Her! drag show in Los Angeles — a point that she shared with great joy.
“AHHHH I’m so excited,” Wilson commented on Instagram about “putting on a drag show for the first time”

Stepping Into Fashion

A year later, Wilson was at her first New York Fashion Week, where she participated in designer Alexis Bittar’s Miss USA 1991-themed event, debuting her fashion talent. Wilson, who was dressed in a “Miss South Carolina” sash, was one of several contestants selected to represent American states that had been the most affected by the issue of trans rights.
“I deliberately put each contestant in the role of a US state where trans rights had been severely attacked,” Bittar told Page Six.
Wilson is one of the six children Musk has with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, to whom he was married from 2000 to 2008.
