Mike Wolfe and Leticia Cline in the Process of Recovery after a Car Crash
Mike Wolfe who is the face of American Pickers, along with his long-time partner Leticia Cline, have been on the receiving end of severe injuries as a result of a car crash over the weekend. They are now both recovering at home after being taken to the hospital.
According to People, Mike posted on his Instagram Story on the 13th of September, “It’s been a rough nite [sic],” next to a photo of a destroyed vintage car. “But there is a ray of hope now at the end of the tunnel,” he added.
Wolfe who has already gone through the discharge process, also shared his energy to the fans for their support during the anxious situation.
On the Road to Healing
“Group prayers, in my opinion, do have a lot of power to them,” the 60-year-old Wolfe said. “Thank you to everyone who has sent them to us.”
That said, Leticia is going through the process of recovery. An update on Instagram detailed Leticia’s injuries as a broken jaw in multiple places, broken ribs, a fractured sternum, a collapsed lung, and extended swelling around the spine.
Still in hospital, Leticia mentioned that Wolfe, who has been extraordinarily loyal and supportive, has stayed by her side during this difficult time.

Small Steps Forward
The hospital staff were able to report some progress on the 14th of September, when the model declared that she had “got up and walked around.”
Also, on the day of her hospital stay, she posted another Instagram Story and recounted the difficult stay but was able to find solace in small things. “The best pho bone broth that gives my life back today,” she mentioned. “Thank you for the food and flowers that, although coming from afar, bring peace to this very sterile hospital room.”
Staying Strong and Involved
Despite her severe injuries, the small business owner emphasized that her discomfort isn’t so great that it prevents her from continuing her community work. In an Instagram Story, accompanied by a picture of her reviewing notes from her hospital bed, she stated: “Just because I am not attending the city council meeting does not mean that I cannot be involved.” “A car accident will not be enough to stop me from caring about the city.”

“Doctors were at hand in no time when Savannah was suffering on the field and she was taken to a local hospital for further checks,” the National Women’s Soccer League said in a post on X later that night. “She is stable and communicative.”

Adam DeVine Hindering Injury from his Childhood
Once talking about his traumatic childhood, Adam DeVine shared that he still suffers from the injuries that were a result of an almost fatal accident during his early years. At the age of 11, the actor was hit by a cement truck that led to him having several side effects afterward.
“It has been a nightmare,” DeVine said on In Depth With Graham Bensinger in 2025. “I have spasms everywhere. For some time, [the doctors] kept informing me that I was dying—actually, within the last year.”

Amy Schumer’s Cushing Syndrome Scare
Several doctors commenting online that she might have Cushing syndrome led Amy Schumer to the realization that they might be correct.
“For some reason I have steroid injections in my scars,” the Life & Beth creator recounted. “I had a breast reduction, a C-section, a little bit of everything, so I was getting the steroid injections. So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, that I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Fortunately, Schumer indicated that she has the type of Cushing that gets better on its own. “The best news I could have been told was finding out I have the kind of Cushing that is just going to work itself out and that I’m healthy,” she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter.

In December 2024, AHL hockey player, Casey Fitzgerald got a horrific neck injury when the skate blade of another player cut him during the game and he had to get 25 stitches. After seeing his son recuperate completely, the father, New Jersey Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald, informed ESPN, “We are fortunate. I wouldn’t want that to happen to any other parent.”

Hailey Bieber’s Blood Clot Scare
On March 2022, Hailey Bieber went through what she labeled later as the “scariest moment” of her life. During breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber, she abruptly got stroke-like symptoms.
“Justin was like, ‘Are you OK?’’” the Rhode skincare founder reminisced in a YouTube video a month after. “I hadn’t reacted to his question since I was not quite sure what was going on with me. He asked me again, I tried to answer but I couldn’t speak. The right side of my face began to droop. I felt like I was choking on my words.”
Luckily for Hailey the drooping of her face and inability to speak went away. She was able to get to the hospital not long after to ensure her safety and stability.
Hailey Bieber’s Diagnosis and Recovery
Reflection upon various tests led to the indication that a small blood clot Hailey had incurred in her brain which the medics labeled a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).
Additional investigation at UCLA discovered the main reason – an abnormal connection between the chambers of her heart known as the patent foramen ovale (PFO). She said that the clot got into the heart with her, “got out” through the hole and went to her brain causing the TIA.
Hailey had a procedure to close the PFO successfully and then she said she has been feeling wonderful since.

Justin Bieber’s Ramsay Hunt Syndrome
Hailey Bieber had a health crisis in the same year that her husband Justin had one too.
In June 2022, the “Baby” singer revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that temporarily paralyzed part of his face and forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour. “Basically, this is a virus that goes into the ear and the facial nerves connected to the ear, and it has caused the paralysis of my face,” Bieber explained in an Instagram video. “You can see that this eye is not blinking. The side of my face that I can’t smile. This nostril that will not move. Therefore, I have complete paralysis on this side of my face.”
Justin’s Recovery and Hailey’s Support
Later on, Justin shared that his illness had made it “progressively harder to eat.” But, through time, the paralysis receded, and his health got better.
“He is really getting well,” Hailey, who was present on Good Morning America in June 2022, said to the audience. “He is getting a lot of his strength back. Without a doubt, it was such a terrifying and unusual incident, but he is going to be OK, and I am just thankful that he is safe.”

Tracey Yukich’s Near-Death Experience on The Biggest Loser
Tracey Yukich, a contestant on The Biggest Loser, revealed she technically “died” while running a mile during the very first challenge of the NBC show.
“I really don’t remember much,” she recounted on Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser. “What I remember is the helicopter noise. I just felt like I was floating. Then my grandpa was there. And then I saw darkness. But then I saw light. So, I knew, I knew I died that day.”
Eventually, she told that her organs were failing due to rhabdomyolysis — a serious condition caused when muscle tissue breaks down and releases proteins into the blood. “My organs were literally shutting down,” she said. “I didn’t realize that I had rhabdomyolysis. And rhabdomyolysis is a way of your body to say, ‘I’m going to shut down on you.'”

In 2013, a brain scan done as a follow-up revealed that Emilia Clarke’s tumor had doubled in size which meant that she had to undergo another surgery urgently.
On the occasion when she was physically awake after the operation, Clarke said, “When they brought me to, I was yelling with pain.” She added that she “had a very bad operation. I had a big bleeding, and the doctors didn’t hide it that my life was hanging in the balance if they didn’t do a second operation. This time, doctors had to reach my brain the traditional way ,through my skull.
By the way, Clarke later told she had a total recovery and was “100 per cent” now.
Cori Broadus Battle with Stroke and Lupus
Cori Broadus, the daughter of Snoop Dogg, after experiencing a “severe stroke” in January 2024, described herself as lucky to have the support of her family.
“I just let them know via text that I had a stroke with a picture,” she related to E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024. “Everyone simply came to my aid.”
Due to lupus, Cori had to stay at the hospital longer than they had planned because of her complications. “After my stroke, I could have gone home but my lupus was not doing well. My kidneys were failing. It was a really hard situation,” she explained.
Now she is on her way to restoration. “I am getting better,” Cori commented. “The only thing that I had to go over again was a little bit of motor skills. But other than that, I was good.”

Shailene Woodley’s Health Struggles in Her 20s
Shailene Woodley stated that her 20s were a time when she encountered numerous health issues that greatly affected her.
“The situation was such that I was losing my hearing as well. I couldn’t stroll for more than five minutes at a time without needing to lie down for a very long time, and sleep was the only thing that helped. “My family background is very holistic and I did study herbalism,” she said. “I was determined: ‘I’m going to work with traditional doctors, and I’m also going to work with independent healers.’” I was just trying to find a little bit of solace within myself and in my own skin. Shailene’s path to health took 10 years, marked by trial, error, and an unwavering determination to heal once and for all.”

Finding Health and Peace
After Shailene Woodley had to fight for her health for ten years, she confessed that the physical discomforts also tore her down mentally.
“In that decade, a lot of other things grew from feeling a lot of physical discomfort,” the Big Little Lies actress said. “Which was, ‘My gosh, if everything I eat hurts my stomach, I suddenly feel scared of food.’ Then I moved into the kind of mental struggles that come with it — battling body dysmorphia, questioning who I really am, and trying to feel safe in my own little world, in my own skin, what that meant, and what that should be.”
Finally, after a long time of taking care of her mind and body, Shailene says that her situation has improved a lot. “It was a process that ultimately sorted itself out physically and I am very healthy,” she said. “I am indeed very glad to say that.”
