Pete Davidson Praises Machine Gun Kelly as a “Great Dad”
Once at the Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards, Pete Davidson took the opportunity to say many nice things about Machine Gun Kelly (Colson Baker) and referred him as his “great dad”.
“I f–king love this dude,” Davidson declared to the audience, naming the singer a “great dad”.
In a lighter mood, the comedian spoke about their friendship, “Colson is, I think, my oldest best friend in this tough biz.”
Davidson also admired MGK’s work across the board: “Pound for pound I think he’s maybe the most talented person I have ever met. He can rap, he can play guitar, he can rock, he can act.”

Davidson on MGK’s Parenting and Resilience
Davidson who is having a baby with his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, morally supported Machine Gun Kelly’s paternity role. In fact, Machine Gun Kelly just became a father to a son with Megan Fox, and he is also a father to daughter Cassie, 16, who was at the event.
“He cannot be anything but a positive example of fatherhood,” said Davidson, in his own words, “Absolutely,” he added, “He’s a great dad, no doubt.”
“He’s the kind of person who is always at the forefront, setting the example through his actions… I really feel lucky to have him as a friend for those times when I just wanna call someone to chat about our careers, or life in general. He’s nothing but a great person and so full of tenacity. He’s been on the scene for twenty years and he’s 35. That’s quite an amazing thing. And he’s definitely not leaving,” the 31-year-old comedian continued.
MGK Accepts the Style Icon Award
The tattooed rap-rocker, who just dropped his new album Lost Americana, admitted his daring and flamboyant fashion choice as he took the Style Icon Award at the ceremony.
“My style really can be quite quirky. As for my name, it could be new to you, but I am absolutely non-negotiable with my authenticity both in what I sing and what I wear,” he stated to the audience.
Kelly further stated that the accolade indicates for him “to really step into fashion, the fashion business, the fashion world, the fashion of the campaign and the fashion of modeling.” As always he made a joke, “I am 6-foot-4 and smoke an ungodly amount of cigarettes so I tick a lot of those boxes.”

MGK on the “American Dream”
Machine Gun Kelly once more paralleled his rise to fame with the “American dream” and said that his popularization was a satire pointing his past non-existence at the biggest fashion event in the world.
He went on to joke, “I was a kid with no money from the middle of the country… [this] really confirms my feeling that all the time the Met Gala must have been dispatching the invitation to the wrong place,” referring to his upbringing in Ohio.
The night was also a gala to honor other recipients such as: Mary Alice Stephenson, Sarah Harrelson, Editor-in-Chief of Cultured, and designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim from Oscar de la Renta and Monse.
