Popular Food Influencer Dies After Attempting Home Birth Due to “Extremely Rare Complication”

Community Mourns Stacey Hatfield After Postpartum Tragedy

An Australian influencer committed to a healthy lifestyle has lost her life after giving birth to a baby boy. The news of her passing was made known by her husband Nathan Warnecke on Oct. 19. Hatfield, through her website and Instagram account called Natural Spoonfuls, was a leading voice in living a toxin-free lifestyle and using natural ingredients. “It is with a very heavy heart that I announce to you the unexpected departure of my lovely wife, my soulmate and my best friend, Stacey Warnecke (Hatfield),” Nathan commented on the Instagram page of Natural Spoonfuls.

Stacey Hatfield’s Husband Shares Heartbreaking Details

“Stace was gone the 29th of September, 2025 after a successful home birth of our first son, Axel,” Nathan Warnecke wrote. “Unfortunately, only a very short time after, a very unexpected and extremely rare complication occurred and she died after being taken to the hospital. The hospital staff were brilliant and did everything they could to help her, but in the end, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done.” Warnecke, who had ten years of acquaintance with Stacey, also said, “She was the light of my life and the reason I got up in the morning.”

A Loving Tribute and Legacy

“Words can’t do justice to how devastating this is for myself and everyone that knew and loved her,” Nathan wrote. “She was my lighthouse in the storm and the world is less bright without her in it.” He added, “As her husband, I couldn’t ask for a better partner… the most beautiful, loving, caring, hardworking, disciplined, intelligent and trustworthy human being I’ve ever known.”
“She made me the man I am today… The happiest day of my life was marrying her on a white sand beach in the Maldives.” Nathan noted Stacey founded Natural Spoonfuls in 2019 and later launched content creation company Waffl.

“She Managed to Do It Herself—Exactly How She Wanted”: A Mother’s Dream Turned into Reality

“I can’t stop being proud of her for every single thing she made happen in her career and I was lucky to be a part of her journey and help her through the years,” Nathan shared. “Among all her dreams it was her life’s biggest dream to be a mum. She did it. On her terms, precisely the way she always dreamed of doing it. She was madly in love with her pregnancy and for the last 9 months kept telling our son that she loved him. She was with Axel when he came into the world, gave him her breast, found out he was a boy and loved him. She loved him so much and still continues to love him.”

Stacey Hatfield Fundraiser Closing in on Target

In an effort to assist with the funeral expenses, pay the household bills, purchase baby necessities, and give Nathan some time off from work, a GoFundMe campaign had set a goal of $28,000. To date, the fund has managed to raise $24,926 Australian dollars. It is also mentioned in the fundraiser that the tragic loss of Stacey happened only two months prior to their wedding anniversary.
