Sara Foster Says Her Blind Date with George Clooney Was a “Hard No”
Sara Foster once revealed that she went on a blind date with George Clooney — and there was no chemistry between them.
The 90210 alum explained on the January 15 episode of The World’s First Podcast that Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber got her together with the star about 30 years ago. However, the romance didn’t last for long.
“I got set up with George Clooney… and it was such a blah,” Sara, 44, told her sister Erin Foster. “Rande and Cindy tried to set me up with him when I was maybe 24. The four of us met and it was just such a hard ‘no.’”
Sara, who with her former husband Tommy Haas is mother of daughters Valentina and Josephine, told that Clooney was not her type: “I can still remember thinking, ‘Wow, he’s really old.’”
Besides, she mentioned, she is not really a fan of a big age difference in relationships.
Sara Foster Says She Was “Offended” Being Set Up with Someone 20 Years Older
Sara Foster elaborated on why the setup upset her so much.
“I always say that when I see these young girls dating older guys,” she revealed on the podcast. “Like, yes, of course, sometimes it could be understandable… but I’ve never understood a 19‑year‑old being attracted to a 40‑year‑old. To me, it’s always been very strange.”
Moreover, she explained that being in a breakup at the time was a major factor in her reaction — and finding out that the person she was about to meet was two decades older seemed like a slap in the face. Foster confesses that she was “offended” that it seems like Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber thought it was a good idea.
Sara Foster Described Her Date with Clooney as ‘Depressing’ and Said Neither of Them Was Into It
Sara Foster did not mince words when she talked about the blind date she had a long time ago with George Clooney.
“I’m sure George Clooney is a nice guy but I just remember the four of us sitting there and thinking, ‘I’m going to die,'” she said. “I was really sad about the other one. Then this one who just feels like a grandpa to me.”
“It was depressing. I felt so depressed,” she confessed.
In her defense, Sara — the daughter of David Foster and Rebecca Dyer — did say that Clooney might not have been feeling it either. The star who is now a father of 8-year-old twins with Amal Clooney seemed to be not that much in love.
“I don’t think he was that much into it either,” she said. “I even started crying about my ex to him. So, I think he was like, ‘This girl is not okay.'”
