Oprah Winfrey Gives the Camera a Smile and a Thumbs-Up While Hiking in New Zealand
Oprah Winfrey Goes Walking in New Zealand While On Speaking Tour
Oprah Winfrey is keeping herself busy with some physical exercises while touring the globe.
On Dec. 12, the ex-talk show host, 71, took to her Instagram to share a photo of her hiking in Auckland, New Zealand, which is the last stop of her Oprah: In Conversation speaking tour.
In the picture, Winfrey is giving two thumbs-up to the camera while dressed in a tan bomber jacket, olive green leggings and a matching tan hat. There is water, city buildings and a vast blue sky, which together make up the beautiful background behind her.
Moreover, a couple of hours before that, she had also posted a video from a pilates session in Australia, where she was dressed in a neon green workout set and was singing along with Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline”.

Oprah Winfrey’s Continuously Changing Health and Weight-Loss Journey
Winfrey re-introduced a different weight loss method in 2021 after her knee surgery led her to get back to exercising. As a part of her revival health and fitness journey, she revealed to PEOPLE in 2023 that she had moved from rehabilitation to doing a “10-mile straight-up hike on the weekends.”
Knee surgery may have been the catalyst for a new wellness chapter in Winfrey’s life, but she has also been quite candid about the fact that she takes weight-loss drugs as part of her overall regimen.
Oprah Winfrey Reflects on Her Weight Problem That Lasted for Years and Her Use of Medication
“It is something that you all are aware of, I have been on this journey for most of my life,” she revealed in her recorded panel for Oprah Daily’s The Life You Want series, The State of Weight, in July 2023. “My highest weight was 237 lbs. I really cannot think of any other public figure whose weight has been the issue and have had their weight struggle to be as much as mine has been over the years, publicly,.”
“The thing that in my lifetime there is a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier that gives me a feeling of relief, redemption, a gift, and not something to hide behind and be ridiculed for once again, she went on to say. “I’m totally done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself, especially from myself.”

Weight-Loss Drugs Changed How Oprah Winfrey Sees “Thin People”
Oprah, not long ago, let it out that her view of “thin people” is different now after the use of weight-loss drugs.
“The very first thing that I figured out when I took a GLP-1 for the very first time was that all these years I had this thought that thin people, those people just had more willpower,” she said in her Oprah podcast in January. “They ate better foods. They were able to stick to it longer. They never had a potato chip.”
“And then very first time I took the GLP-1 I also came to the realization that, no, they are not even thinking about it,” she continued. “They eat only when they are hungry and they stop when they are full.”
